This was singing last night. Nice nose of mature cherries and spice box. Mid palate displays density and weight. Packed with ripe cherries and a hint of tobacco, complemented with a moderate tannin structure. Oak treatment was in the background. Finished with length and a hint of soft brown sugar. Acidity is still prominent so I assume you could continue to hold this for another 7 years with ease. — 2 days ago

2016 vintage. Decanted with very little sediment and tasted over the course of 2.5 hours. Medium body. Initially, very tight. Opened up somewhat but never really gained the high ground. Oodles of dark fruit mixed with enough structure. Revisit in 4-5 years. 11.28.24. — 3 months ago

Compared to our previous bottle, this second of 3 bottles is drinking really nicely. I’m thinking it’s probably near peak at 13 years. Second day after opening (wine fridge with a vacuum cork stopper) its lovely, fragrant dark cherry, lithe bramble fruit nose, reminds me of Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir aromatically. Delicious tartness on palate, not a ton of weight as this is a lower-extract style and tannins have been fully tamed on the finish.#riojagranreserva — 24 days ago
