Fruit leather mashed and baked on slate stone.
This follows from my inhalation to first strike on the pallet, followed by Texas red grapefruit Pith, heavier bodied fresh leather, and a tabac filled barn.
The first reviewer was spot on, this needs air!

1 of 2 byob choices with classic French bistro food (gem salad with Roquefort & hazelnuts, my friend had delicious Baked trout with crispy skin). A real eye opener: classic Fume smoky nose & such an elegant mouthfeel. Pitch perfect balance. Damn. — a month ago
Very pleasant. A hint of sweetness. Mellon and honey. Great by itself or desert wine. Not so great with lake trout. — 2 days ago
Toasty, leesy, peach cobbler, flambéed orange peel, great acid and cherry blossom. Showing some age, but holding up nicely. 2013 vintage. — a month ago
Vintage 2015 / A seductive smell with lots of red summerfruit. Velvety taste with also some austerity and tannins. Certainly a wine that will reward some years cellaring. I Partnered it with trufflepotato, cauliflower and venison. Costa Lazaridi makes wine in theNorth of Greece, the protected geographical indication is called Drama. Easy to remember. A big hurray for flying consultant Michel Rolland. This wine is really seductive. — a month ago
Well integrated Cabernet Franc. Dark plum and blackberry fruit flavors. Big hints of green pepper with notes of earth and slate. A bit of a medicinal flavor on the finish. Low acid and can be served chilled. One of their last Long Island vintages. — 14 days ago
Prior notes apply, very consistent.
A beautiful golden yellow straw color in the glass.
Nose has banana skin, honey roasted almonds, shaved oak and wet chalk.
Palate is bruised golden apple, warmed pear, candied lemon skin with fading oak influence. The acidity is just perfect to the mineral balance. This bottle has plenty of life remaining.
Paired with a gratuitous slab of steelhead trout on the grill, baby fennel, roasted baby spring veggies and grilled lemon.
Fully into a happy place this evening. 👍
