Revisiting this one and glad I did. Ruby red and orange around the rim showing a little age. Lots of red fruit on the nose, cherry & strawberry + wood & leather. To taste: lots of harmony with fruit (plum, cherry candy, black currant) up front with an oak & coffee finish. Apparently my dog Finn is a big Bordeaux fan, he was staring this glass down. — 8 years ago
Pale yellow white in color with large bubbles. McIntosh aroma profile with hints of pineapple, tropical fruit and gingerbread cookie. Very clean apple flavors in mouth with some lingering almost hot ginger on finish, tactilely so with carbonation spritz. Another winner from Finn River. So nice to have a well made cider, and one with ginger that's not overpowering its apple flavors — 10 years ago
When Viners is at Todd and Scotty’s, you know the heavy hitters are coming out. Double magnum bottle, from 2007. I had no idea the bottle size changes the way the wine matures.
Great aroma, with some prune and mineral notes. Floral rose flavor upfront before the juicy cherry thing comes back. Mouthfeel is really special. The slowest roll down the palate, super soft that turns into a tannic grapefruit feeling. Finish is a slow burn, that eventually made me take my flannel off. — 5 years ago
Autumn’s Blush sparkling cider with black currant, 6.5% alc/vol. Light cranberry red with golden tinge, excellent clarity. Small head on pour but quickly dissipated, light carbonation, pinpoint bubbles. Black currant notes dominate in nose, as do tart (malic-citric) earthy black currant flavors, bone dry, minimal astringency. Tasty and well made as per Finn River standards, but the cage for the cork was one of the tightest, most difficult to open in my life. But hang in there, work hard at opening this one (pliers or a dry towel will work); you will be rewarded for your efforts — 7 years ago
Bright red color, good head, moderate carbonation with medium-sized bubbles. Nice balance of cranberry and apple flavors, acidity. Finish is astringent from rosehip infusion. Well balanced, well crafted. I seem to have some sensitivity to the botanical infusions, but despite this issue I enjoyed this superior Finn River cider . — 7 years ago
Golden yellow, slight brown tinge, light to moderate carbonation. Slight spice, perfumes floral and Macintosh aroma profile in nose. Beeswax and floral notes in mouth, malic and citric acid, slight cinnamon or paprika like mouthfeel in finish, dry to off dry, slightly tart aftertaste. Minimal bitterness and astringency. Yummy. Have always been a big fan of New Zealand Chardonnays. This Neudorf has a very funky toasty nose with lees stirring in evidence. Owned by Judy and Tim Finn, nothing to do with NZ rock band , Crowded House. On the palate some vanillan oak and Buttery notes. Medium intensity and medium acid. A very well made Chardonnay with complexity at this young age. Bob Campbell a Master of Wine from NZ gave this 99 points. — 7 years ago
Flavored with wild harvested fir tips and ginger. Good head in pour. Pinpoint bubbles. Light golden yellow. Fresh ginger in nose followed by a rich apple aroma profile. Light fir flavor followed by a yummy cider with a light ginger finish. Excellent stuff — 7 years ago
Light to moderate carbonation, no head, small to medium sized bubbles. Pale yellow, incredible clarity. Perfumed pear aroma spread across three feet of airspace within five seconds of pour- impressive. Good tart blend of pear and apple flavors, made with organic juice from both apple and pear and nothing else. Dry, tasty. Another quality adult beverage from Finn River — 8 years ago
Wow!! Great recommendation by our buddy Finn at Barriques. Going to buy a few more of these for hot summer days! — 9 years ago
Might need to rate this a tie with the Dumol Finn. This is very classic red burgundy- hay, funk, wet socks, some menthol, strawberry in the nose leading to a lithe, elegant mouthful. Pretty finish. The Dumol is equally yummy - they are stylistically apples and oranges - but comparable in quality. — 10 years ago
