Concreto Mendoza Malbec 2020

Deep purple in color; blackberries, plums and graphite on the nose; medium plus acidity; high tannins; tastes like prunes, blueberries, chocolate, and crushed gravel with a long finish. Nellie and I both like it. — 2 days ago

Imaginador Itata Cinsault 2020

Give this one a proper 1.5 hour decant, tight, needs to relax. Also deserves proper wine glass, I used a glass tumbler.

Enjoying by the glass, it was fun to witness it unfold. Tight, earthy, tannic, and not very expressive at the beginning, later a floral and raspberry note showed up in the nose. Earthy on the pallet.

9.1 for my experience, could achieve 9.3 with proper handling.

RPF Reserva Personal de la Familia Progreso Tannat 2013

This is only the second Tannat I’ve ever had and it good but not great. Missing some finer complexity to the wine but I was grateful to find it in the “other reds” section. — 7 days ago

Aluvional Paraje Altamira Mendoza Malbec 2018

Deep purple in color with a short purplish rim.

Full-bodied with medium acidity.

Dry and very fruity on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing blackberries, blueberries, black plums, cooked cherries, spices, oak, licorice, herbs, light vegetables and peppercorn.

Medium finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This 6-year-old Malbec from Mendoza is still young, and a little harsh. I had it before and this time I let it open for a whole day.

Tangy and rich. Very extracted and a little unbalanced.

Wine Advocate 97 points.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

90 points.

Gran Reserva de la Familia Brut Nature Cava Macabeo-Xarel-lo-Parellada 2017

Made from Macabeu, Xarel·lo and Parellada grapes, bright pale gold with a frothy creamy mousse, small plentiful bubbles with a steady stream. Aromas of apple and citrus with toasty notes. Well integrated, nice mouthfeel, elegant long finish. Great value as an exceptional alternative to French Champagne. — 12 days ago

Rías Baixas Albariño 2022

Bright lemon color with stone and tropical fruit aromas and floral citrus scents. On the palate flavors of pear, apples and peaches with lime citrus zest and notes of chalky salinity. Well balanced with pleasant lively acidity, long finish ending with mineral, citrus and wet stone nuances. Very nice! — a month ago
