Dolcetto d'Alba 2020

Tried another bottle. Pale lemon with aromas of fresh stone fruits, citrus and floral notes, aged in stainless with plenty of lees contact. On the palate flavors of pear, apple and lemon citrus with lively acidity and blossom notes. Medium finish ending with citrus and creamy mineral character. Drink now while it’s still fresh! — 4 days ago

First bottle was unimpressive but this was a stunner - everything @Lyle Fass wrote about… wish I had a 6 pack of this - although I don’t know this has a particularly long window but it’s fire now — 6 months ago

lol we don’t even work with that guy anymore as that’s how italians do it. get them good reviews by having them send wines to galloni then they are in demand worldwide and leave us in a heartbeat. how every italian has left us. they know nothing about loyalty.

Barbaresco Nebbiolo 1996

Garnet core , medium wide terracotta rim. Slightly balsamic sous bois , spiced red cherry , porcini , touch of menthol. On the palate this has good density , red cherry, porcini , good mineral tinged finish. Quite high acidity and slightly gritty tannin . Still showing very well , probably at peak drinking now . Now and over the next 5 years. Surprisingly good . — 20 days ago

Barbera d'Alba 2022

After sending back an oxidized, tired 2020 Rossi di Montalcino, the Somm had the waiter bring back this wine at around the same price point. Don’t sleep on #barberadalba from a great producer. Raspberry, plum, dusty dark fruit nose. So vibrant on the palate with lush yet tangy dark red fruit on the entry, gossamer tannins on the finish. Corking it after dinner and after the next day in the wine fridge still as alive. — 6 months ago
