We started the evening with a Repris Cab Franc which was a nice primer to our favorite Left Bank. It was great to share with friends. I’ve been drinking this brand since 2016 & has never disappointed. We went on to the Heritage Clones Cab afterwards to top off the evening. — 2 years ago
Very nice actually light CS. “Right Bank” style with only only Merlot Dandrades Cab Franc. — 5 years ago
Finally getting around to posting wines from my annual Napa trip from two weeks ago. Always goes by quick! Lots of fun new stops this year.
Theorem was one of our highlights last year, so we made sure a return visit was lined up this year. Base of Diamond Mtn with one of the most beautiful properties I’ve seen. Over the last 12 months, they’ve added a couple new wines (with more to come from Moon Mountain). TRB is the winemaker.
This is Theorem’s “entry level” cab. 100% Cabernet from young vines on their diamond Mtn estate. Just like the 2016 vintage, this is made in a decadent and ripe style. Showing the entire fruit spectrum from red, blue and black with baking spices (vanilla, nutmeg), sandalwood, and freshly dipped dark chocolate fruits are all on display. Soft yet well built structure allows this to be very approachable early on but can hold easily for a couple years and still be quite youthful. Not quite as chalky/dusty as the 2016. This 2017 shows more concentrated fruit and a slightly more sweet finish compared to the structured and slightly more tannic 2016. — 6 years ago
Cab Sauv. Super smooth and full of deep berry flavors with delicious tannins #undergroundcellars — 4 years ago
This poor vineyard. Wedged in between two of Sonoma’s best vineyards but mistreated for years. Mountain fruit. The first whiff took me back to being in their caves. The Petit Verdot comes out. Lots of red and black fruit coming out with spice and cedar/cigar box. Still so rich. The oak is fully integrated, very fine tannins. Excellent balance. At its peak, with many more years to go. A medium to big cab, sensuous, but structured, not overdone. One of my favorite wines for sentimental reasons. Perhaps not a “great” wine, but so what? There’s a lot of pleasure in this. There isn’t much mountain fruit like this from Sonoma. Drink or lay down. I’ve got a vertical. — 6 years ago
Intense cab. Moon rock notes. — 6 years ago
I very much enjoyed this. It shows black cherry, espresso, black olive, and earth. It is moderately acidic and has good length. I perceived less alcohol than the 14.1% on the label. My kind of California Cab that shows balance and restraint. — 7 years ago
An excellent Cab from Moon Mountain. This vineyard sits on the Sonoma side of Mount Veeder, right off the border of Napa and is known for it’s extremely rocky terrain and it’s famous farmer Phil Coturri. Had this one in magnum and it’s starting to open, but plenty of improvement in bottle still to come. Rich and brooding and packed with black fruit. Moderate acidity and some mild tannin. A well made wine that will reward for the next 15yrs and beyond. 🌝 ⛰ — 8 years ago
2021 vintage. By far, the best Moon Mountain Cabernet I've had over the course of 34 years and it's not even close. Power, finesse, structure, development, balance, potential. Generally not a Sonoma County Cab fan with the older, Patrick Campbell produced/overseen Laurel Glen Cabs (1985-1994) being the main exception. 08.15.25. — 10 months ago

2018 cab from Bedrock! Very good — 4 years ago
Beautiful Bordeaux #sonomavalley Moon Mountain AVA blend by Schug; 48% #merlot / 45% #cabernetfranc / 5% Cab/ 2% Petit Verdot - mesmerizing aroma featuring violets, bramble fruit, white pepper, earth - well-concentrated fruit on the palate that brings up coffee, chocolate and jammy notes but all framed nicely with robust acidity but soft tannins in the finish. This is what a Sonoma Valley Bordeaux blend should be. — 6 years ago
A nice smooth rich cab. — 7 years ago
Amazing cab from Moon Mountain in Sonoma. Smooth, fresh, despite the 15.2% alcohol. — 7 years ago
Black cherry cherry cherry chicory licorice nose. Minimal tannins for a napa cab, and forward red cherry licorice. — 8 years ago

We always love Repris Cab Franc but today’s bottle was exceptional. Maybe it was Father’s Day, or our outside patio setting was exceptional with great weather but in any case a great wine. — 7 days ago
