I do enjoy & respect PYCM’s craft. This Bourgogne is well worth twice what I paid. You can pay much more for many non-white Bourgogne’s. I am just not sure the additional spend pencils vs those higher prices in many QPR comparisons. One qualifying remark, in really good vintages.

It is an insanely great pair w/ the Jasper Hill Farms, Harbison and honey crisp apples. 92 on its own, 93 with the paring.

2018- Good time to drink- lemon custard, lemon oil, chalky/ stoniness , med/med plus acidity( maybe a little bit low) neutral oak ? - nice finish at 8 years old- but definitely glad I drank this now — 3 months ago

2015 vintage. Light-medium/medium body. Elegant with just the right mix of primary and secondary characteristics currently. Some earthy tones, some pretty tones. Picked up 3 cases for an affordable ($35 a btl) domestic Cab with a decade of age on it. 2013 effort (not reviewed) had a slightly, off-putting, prunish note on the finish that wouldn’t leave the party so passed on it and went with this instead. 3.11.26. — 8 months ago

Superb for its humble appellation. Delicate nose needs a little coaxing, but when it comes through it’s got ripe lemon, a little moist limestoney gravel, and a faint hazelnut note. In the mouth it’s a little less shy, with a Meursault-like amalgam of smoky gravel, lemon oil, and dry oatmeal, though in a lighter format. Fantastic acids. Finish is quite lingering. Is it worth $90? Well, if you’re in the mood for PYCM and see it on the shelf, then, yes, you take it home. I was, I saw, I took home.

UPDATE: two hours later, as it warms and breathes, holy cow, what a wine. More of everything. Upping from 9.2 to 9.3. Yes, 9.3 for a Bourgogne Blanc. — 25 days ago

Good minerality - wet stone, like many PYCM wines particularly from Saint Aubin, yellow fruits and citrus. 60 year old vines. Warmer site than Champlots. Looking at previous Delectable Notes for 2017 and 2015 for this Cuvée, the tasting notes are similar. — 2 months ago

A profoundly backward Jessie James that took a strange, winding path over several days. Initially reduced and giving maybe 10%, with matchstick, damson, sour and mid-season cherry, mineral and very little aromatic expression. The palate was completely discombobulated at first, but the material was obvious: beautiful velvety tannins, tiny-berry fruit intensity, tremendous depth and an extraordinarily long, persistent finish. After about ninety minutes it briefly opened into something spectacular, with deep, voluminous perfume, sweet and sour cherries, mossy minerality and exotic spice, the nose easily operating at a 9.7 level. Then it closed again, the tannins took over and both nose and palate retreated. Two days later it is much more composed, silky and elegant, with pure red fruit, sour cherry and beautifully refined tannins. Very good, serious and clearly built to age, but not at the level of the great 2021 or 2022 Jessie James. — 3 months ago

Grapefruit and plenty of mineral on both nose and palate. Some austerity as you often get with Saint Aubin. As Jasper Morris MW describes the terroir - “A steep south west facing vineyard overlooking the hamlet of Gamay. It offers attractive wines but not in the First Division of St-Aubin.” The following night notes of mandarin on the palate with the ever present mineral. — 5 months ago
