Nose is so seductive. Wow. Violets. Meat, dark berry fruit. Unreal granite and just so expressive. I’m thrilled how great this is. Stunning. Raspberry spice cake. Just sick. 9.6 nose. Smells like God’s Jelly Donut. Palate is juicy, precise and lean. Wow is this slathered with minerals, but seems a bit closed initially. But man is poised, concentrated and slathered with gorgeous minerals. Long floral/berry infused finish. Let’s see how this develops but so fine now. — 2 years ago

1961 vintage. Delicious at 61 years old. This estate remains under the radar of many wine critics, but the wines are extremely reliable and ageworthy and they show an understated class that is totally in line with the personality of owner Xavier Jean. — 2 years ago
Already developed into drinking window. Sometimes you have these wines that do not tip the high rating scales, not overly complex, layered or standout elements. No, this is just really well balanced and giving a lot of pleasure and easy drinking.
Funny fact: This cuvee name means badger in Occitan, a wink at the animal who eats Jean-Francois' grapes.. 🦡 — 5 months ago
Dinner white. Nose has granite and gras. Some exotic fruits and so vivid. Hint of reduction. Palate is so engaging. Granitic intensity, so pure and clean and just shimmering. Simple but so well made. Maybe some complexity will develop with air. Solid 9.2 for now. — 2 years ago
