As someone else noted, a rare bottle of a super rare red grape from Burgundy called “Cesar” (10 hectares in the world) — very dark color, rich, dark fruits, some noticeable structure, this needs 3-5 years aging to settle down, a great “stump your wine friends” wine!! — 9 months ago

Deep purple with light rim gradation. Initial funky nose disappeared shortly after pouring. Great aromas, collapsed tannins, dark fruit. This tastes rather like an older rioja with some herbs lacing the nose. Medium-short finish--this is on the downward slope. Drink up. — 7 years ago

Subdued nose has classic tree bark, iodine, blackberry skin, and old leather. Broad and low-toned in the mouth, with lots of underbrush notes. Still a fair amount of tannin. Should go well with the lamb I’m about grill. — 5 years ago
