Talk about an enormous wine. The 2005 is downright youthful and packed to the gills with fruit and character. Dark fruited with anise and black pepper. It was just so dense that everything seemed locked up right now…and we can thank Mourvedre for that. This was very tasty with cassoulet, Toulouse sausage and duck confit. If I were going to open another one of these, I would probably hold until 2030 and this will probably last for another 25 years beyond that. A massive wine with a long future yet ahead. — 2 months ago
Enjoyed at Hickory and Ash. This Grenache Syrah blend is incredibly smooth. Low tannins. Medium finish. Leather. Clay. — 22 days ago

Slightly cloudy garnet ruby core . Some herbal and slightly funky undergrowth , dried red fruits, dried mushroom , tobacco and dried spices, touch medicinal also. On the palate still some fruit , dried red cherry, those sous bois notes , rose and spice , liquorice . Balanced acidity, noticeable slightly angular tannin. Ok length with just a touch of warmth , slightly smoky finish . This is mature and should be drunk as I don’t see it improving. Drink Now and next 5 years . — 3 months ago

This wine has a soft, light, onion skin pink hue. The nose is fresh and fruity. There is a bushel basket of strawberries in the aroma package, along with citrus minerality and that wonderful smell of rain on a hot sidewalk. The palate is dominated by the acidity, which is quite lively. Ripe red fruit is there, of course, as is a healthy dose of lemon and tangerine. The wine finishes long and the acidity keeps on working after the sip. — 17 days ago
