Terres de Mandrin Syrah 2022

Good value northern Rhône syrah. Lots of the standard markers: dark cherry, blueberry, black olive, some smoky bacon. Medium tannins, firm but not overpowering. — 3 months ago

Les Barcillants Cornas Syrah 2019

Vintage 2019 | Walking on a barnyard, vanilla, stinky (positive!). Plums. Character. Good acidity, pleasant bitters. Balanced. Spices, cherries. As always tasted blind. In my notes: screames for a cheese. — 6 months ago

Cuvée Château Gaillard Morgon Gamay 2021

Had a different bottling from this producer that we didn’t love several weeks ago but this was quite nice. Definitely a very classic Beaujolais note on the finish. Quite nice with a chill. — 2 years ago

Lieu Dit St. Joseph Le Biez 2018

Notes written 2nd day.
On 1st day lots of barnyard, garrigue, iron, some blood and herbs. Tannins pretty well integrated, nice acid balance.
2nd day, more muted nose, but it’s all there. Still light on it’s feet.
Has that nice Syrah peppery ness.

Heluicum Vin de Pays des Collines Rhodaniennes Syrah 2018

It's sharp. Dark fruit (a plum for sure) and leather. Short oaky finish. — 5 years ago

La Chambée Condrieu Viognier 2019

Another solid vintage. Beautiful golden color. Aromas of stone fruit, honey and white flowers. Fruit salad flavors of peach, pear, apricot, nectarine and a bit of tropical fruit. A rich honey/beeswax note on the long finish. Silky/oily texture with low acidity. (Wine is still nicely balanced.) Quite vibrant and succulent with a lovely creamy structure. Solid value for Condrieu. Aged quite well. — 3 months ago

Crozes-Hermitage Syrah 2019

Delicious wine from my brother. Thanks. Deep purple, lot going on here. It was a dinner party so I only got a glass and a half. :(. Excellent with beef stew and potatoes. — 6 months ago

Saint-Joseph Syrah 2015

2015 lovingly stored, drank at what feels like its peak in 2026, all the necessary acidity and fruit but deep and mature secondary flavors of Syrah — 3 months ago

Les Laurelles Côtes du Rhône White Rhône Blend

I like it and my husband like it too.

Not a standout or especially good, but a dry white Rhone blend that is quaffable.

Clos de Mez

Chateau Gaillard Morgon 2014

Just a ridiculous value at <$25 from fass selections. Definitely agree that this is a long-lived wine - this is at its best 4+ hours into decanting, before that the tannins are a bit chewy. But a great example of a Morgon from one of my favorite Beaujolais vintages. Subtle aromatics with great mouthfeel and nice red fruit. Great pairing with a roast Provençal style chicken. Quite seamless after much air and very nice. — 6 years ago

Agreed on the QPR, plus I really like the '14's now, but they will get better.

Glad you liked it. Not your classic Bojo per se but more like a Burgundy. And when these mature (2011 now) they are knockouts. This will age 10+ more years.
