Lots of bubbles that last, clean and crisp! Some mineral and slight citrus. Very nice for about $50. — 17 days ago

Les Chardonnerets Beaujolais Blanc

Only 1% of wine from Beaujolais is white, and most of that 1% is Chardonnay. This was a strange one - herbaceous, acidic, and a hint of strange garlic? — a month ago

Do you mean you’ve never had a corked wine ever? Or that this particular wine has never been corked? The garlic comment made me think of cork taint...

@Ben Dalton Yep, I’ve never had a corked bottle ever. I’ve read they typically taste like wet cardboard, but if garlic is common I’d say this one was definitely corked – it was funky in a strange, strange way.

Count yourself lucky that you’ve never had a corked bottle, see if you can hunt that bottle down a second time it may be worth it!

Clos Saint Michel Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2015

Plum, blackberry, currant, raspberries, cherries, spice, licorice, and graphite. Full bodied and very fruit forward with red and black fruit notes. Very earthy and herbaceous on the nose. Not my favorite bottle of Chateauneuf, but after 5 more years or so, this 2015 bottle will show much better. Definitely needs a good decanting prior to consuming. — 9 days ago

Harmonie Extra Brut Blanc de Noirs Champagne Pinot Noir 2010

Cheddar biscuit and ripe tomatoes on the nose. Gives way to great yeast and lemony citrus. This is delicious and quite interesting. — a month ago

Chaillot Cornas Syrah

2006 vintage in 2018? The wine held up better than the cork, and it held up pretty good! A wisp of smoke and focused minerality. Color me in love. — 7 days ago

Bugey Mondeuse Noir 2015

Unique wine by a notable producer. I’m finding both Cab Franc and Gamay characteristics here. Floral, herb, earthy and a tad green. Very dark fruit profile but with a very light palate weight. White pepper on the finish. There is a rusticity and delicacy that I enjoy. — 3 months ago

Classik Bergerac Red Blend 2015

More under $20 joy—trying to rein in that booze budget. Deep, dark fruit—plums, ripe cherries—with a pronounced earthy funk on the nose and finish. Tons of grip, which I’m sure will pair well with this Monday night DiGiorno. 🙅🏾‍♂️💅🏾 — a month ago
