Excellent concentration in this value Burg, quite dark and extracted, yet still retaining balance and complexity. Could pass for a fine CA PN. Very well made. — 4 years ago

Pernand-Vergelesses Pinot Noir 2019

falling somewhere between fresh and astringent this one needed some time out of the gate. 2 days helps lure out something damp leaf-like, baked berry, and stained pomegranate pith, some pleasant bitters, and a lovely garnet color with a pale blue meniscus. — 4 years ago

Les Beaux Jours Coteaux du Giennois Pinot Noir - Gamay Blend 2022

The 4th wine in the degustation with Byron and Paulina. A 50/50 blend of Pinot Noir and Gamay from the Loire Valley of all places. A great wine to serve blind to MW and MS students. I recall strawberry and red berry notes in general with quite fluid tannins. So easy to drink. I can’t recall the matching dish but it was a perfect match - duck was involved. — a year ago

@Peter van den Besselaar Yes Peter, the matching degustation wines at this restaurant were very new and unusual. The partner of the chef was a French woman from Bordeaux who was our sommelier. The chef was an Australian who spent 7 years working in France in Michelin rated restaurants where he met the Somm. A great partnership

I thought that this was excellent. 50/50 Gamay and Pinot Noir. Unusually for my experience with Passetoutgrains from Burgundy, this blend seemed to be Pinot Noir dominant. A beautiful match with the duck.
