An exceptional example of blaufränkisch from the premier producer. Smooth out of the decanter with depth and character that lasted to the final sip. — 10 months ago

New label, even better inside. This guy just gets better & better.
At 6y this is showing beautifully!
Open, pure, zippy fresh, savoury - with dark sour cherries, dark plums, graphite, wet earth, cloves and raw meat. Evolves with time adding wilted flowers and some fresh thyme/orange zest spicy freshness. Plus a hint iodine. Insane complexity.
On the palate this stays bright, fresh, so juicy. Firm yet polished & slightly mellowed tannins, bright dark berry acidity with a dash of beetroot earthiness, rocky, pebbly minerality. This has beautiful depth & precision and great personality.
Not the most elegant out there but, damn, so interesting & drinkable.
Brilliant value, too!

Peter Sultan
Probably the darkest & most savory expression of Blaufrankish I’ve ever tried, & it works: black cherry & kirsch color, dense; on nose pretty open knit raspberry & black currants; the blacks currants, raspberry, & also kirsch/ beet notes on palate, with a pleasant chewy texture. For 24$ on sale a whole lotta wine, imagine the relatively long aging prerelease- over 3 years in amphorae etc -probably helped. — 3 days ago
