85% merlot / 15 % cab franc — 8 months ago
Merlot dominates this blend but there is some Cabernet Sauvignon and some Cabernet Franc blended in. Medium ruby color with a slight clear meniscus. Fruit forward aromas and flavors of blackberry, black cherry, dark plum, baking spices and cedar. Medium-plus finish. Medium body and very silky tannins. Well balanced/layered acidity and a very silky texture. A bit more austere than a traditional Medoc red blend. At peak. — 9 months ago
Deep dark color, complex amazing palate — 4 years ago
Stellar. A touch of that pretty Chinon violet flower and manure funk. St. Emilion-like concentration but this isn’t inky or extracted in the least. Luxurious, satin-like texture and tannins, with a subtly sweet finish. Feels a bit higher alcohol than classic Chinon vintages, but on the basis of the massive concentration and nascent complexity this will develop very well. Young but already approachable. — 5 years ago

Fantastic. Little evidence of oak, medium-plus acidity, lovely notes of flowers, minerals, green apple and citrus. Great length. — 4 years ago
Leather and black currant. Traditional taste. But not too much. Balanced and soft tanning. Château Croix Puyblanquet Saint Emilion 2016 @960, domaine -, 220520-220607 — 4 years ago
