bright, delightful carbonic sangiovese - enjoyed room temperature and chilled with a spicy creole charcuterie board. the cooler temp, strawberry and cherry flavors rounded out the rich creole spices. im most def going to try this with more of my creole dishes. — 4 years ago
Enjoyed with Creole tomato soup, wow and yummy pairing!!! 3rd time having this wine, best today — 6 years ago
Deep golden color, complex aromas, marmalade and peach pit, density of fruit flavors on the palate, some bitterness on the finish. This wine really shows the character of the vineyard. Interesting stuff but got overwhelmed by our Fried Boudin Fritters with Creole Mustard Sauce. — 7 years ago
An icon, and a superb accompaniment to Shrimp Creole. Chablis-like in style with Meyer lemon, tangerine oil, rocks, and a racy spine of acidity. #chrispine — 8 years ago
55 % Tannat 30% Merlot 15% Zinfandel from Uruguay in French and American oak. Different blend but very good, went well with Creole food. 2015 — 9 years ago
Really interesting wine from a biodynamic producer in Saumur. Not fined or filtered so the wine is slightly cloudy and with sediment. On the savory side. Notes of raspberry, red cherry, smoke, charred herbs, roasted poblano and black pepper. A bit funky and earthy. Definitely a food wine. Held up great over two nights for a pairing with dijon and herb crushed pork tenderloin and creole seasoned pan-seared salmon. — 5 years ago
Drank this at The Quarter Creole Cuisine in Claremont, CA, the night of my father's services. — 7 years ago
With good memories of our visit to the winery in March. Slight pear and acidity. Very smooth, not crisp. Great with our Himalayan salt block scallops with creole tomato sauce and citrus-honey shrimp. — 9 years ago
Not terribly complicated but great fruit and chilled slightly it made good company with shrimp creole. — 9 years ago
Enjoying with a spicy creole dish. Tootsie roll of wine. — 2 years ago
Cocoa, savory spices, cedar, strawberries and cherry. Dark chocolate with a creole bitter old fashioned. Usually not my style but hit the spot tonight with burgers. There’s enough tannin and acid to balance it out. Could be good in a few years. — 3 years ago
Opened well. Excellent choice for a good creole dinner. — 7 years ago
Paired w/shrimp etouffe (onion, celery, green bell pepper, creole seasoning) — 8 years ago
Oyster shell, citrus, rock, a pinch of butter. Classic Chablis 1er cru nose. The palate is very balanced with a sheer acidity but also matter, texture : lemon, width, white flower. A long finish on acid notes that calls for another instant sip. Very good and more when confronted to a squid salad creole style (lime and chili). — 9 years ago
Yummy. The taste of summer! Sweet but not cloying. Great with the creole tuna steaks we ate tonight. — 9 years ago

The 2023 Kuentz-Bas Riesling is an example of what me truly fall in love with this entire style of Alsatian wine. A soft hue of chartreuse meets the eye, and does not lie. After a bit of a breathe the nose is lush and grassy in all the right ways. The palate is where it shines, bringing oodles of wet stone, delightfully gum-soaking minerality, and a finish that defines this style of Riesling. This is in the top three when we pair it with anything spicy- particularly creole- but any spice will do.
