Henry Lataste Ainé

Pommard Pinot Noir 1955

Like all other wines this night it was tasted blind.
Amazingly fresh.
My contribution and I’m glad I didn’t have to guess on the age.
One guess around the table was for a 2003....

Caroline Frey

Clos des Guettotes Monopole Savigny-lès-Beaune Chardonnay 2015

2015 vintage. This is a red Savigny-lès-Beaune, so Pinot Noir from the " Monopole" vineyard " Clos des Guettotes". Château Corton-André was bought in 2014 by the Frey family and the name changed into Château Corton C. A good start for Caroline Frey (also Château La Lagune and Paul Jaboulet Ainé) with this delicious elegant Savigny with impeccable balance and velvety mouthfeel. Abv. 13%. — 2 years ago

Comtesse de Ligny Chablis Chardonnay 2018

Beautiful example of classic Chablis! Fresh, clean and lively. Complex aromas and flavors of apple, lemon and mineral. Hints of cilantro and grapefruit. Long and elegant finish. Excellent! Reasonably priced too.

Corton Pinot Noir 1982

Excellent! Particularly given the vintage. Enticing nose (multiple cherry varieties), plush (lightly chaptalised) palate, and good, long acidic bite. Well exceeded expectations! — 7 years ago

Château La Lagune

Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

One of the first and most acclaimed vintages since the Frey family – also owners of Domaine Paul Jaboulet Ainé in the Rhône Valley- took the helm at La Lagune. Blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot from the estate’s 80-hectare estate in Haut-Médoc. Earthy, powerful and complex. Cassis, black peppercorns, leather and forest floor. — 4 years ago

Paul Jaboulet Aîné

La Petite Chapelle Hermitage Syrah 2009

Stellar expression of Hermitage. The '09 warm vintage truly manifest itself in this wine with incredibly ripe black and blue fruits, black peppercorns and smoked meat. A powerful, complex, elegant wine with persistent tannins and wonderful acidity that keeps you reaching for more. Paired wonderfully with roasted lamb. Paul Ainé is a fantastic producer of wines in the region and this bottling from La Petite Chapelle does not disappoint. Could have easily been kept for another couple years but I thoroughly enjoyed drinking it today! — 8 years ago
