Mas Jullien

Les Terrasses du Larzac Coteaux du Languedoc Red Rhône Blend 2012

Really quite nice once you gave it some air. A bit stiff on its own but great with the robust flavors of the the Pinot Noir short ribs we had. — 7 days ago

Clos Domitia Languedoc Grenache Noir Blend 2015

Once the fruit and lift starts to calm down in the slightest which does not happen quickly to be sure you will smell that Sheetrock mud and silicon caulk and you will know that ‘Clos’ Domitia is a historically gifted site and that this bottle parading around the natural wine scene as a good value is a sign of the times. Truly special juice. Excited to see a couple cases of this sail on slowly through my dinner tables through the next decade. — 3 days ago

Wow. I like it when I immediately agree! Very nice. Had it chilled. “Dry 2018”. Dry and sweet. — 11 days ago

Mas Jullien

Coteaux du Languedoc Les Terrasses du Larzac 1995

Mas Jullien ‘Les Depierre’ 1995 (Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Cinsault). Utterly spellbinding. This puts any doubt about the potential quality for Languedoc wines to rest. An intoxicating yet delicate nose of redcurrant, blackberry, and graphite, with hints of smoke, paprika, and liquorice at the very end (not unlike a Barca Velha opened recently). Gorgeous palate; still tannic, with great acidity. Very long and with a clear sense that it has just come intimista own. A shame most of these bottles will have been opened a long time ago... — 24 days ago

I liked it more than Christina, she thinks it’s “easier” than I did. — 14 days ago

Château Puech-Haut

Tête de Bélier Saint-Drézéry Blanc White Rhône Blend 2015

Heaviest white wine bottle ever! Lovely dark gold color! Nose contains massive coconut and cream, and maybe a touch of melon or lemon. Wine is interesting, in a good way, but there is some funk and misplaced tartness. Shortish finish. I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed this! Excellent QPR!! — 4 days ago

En Damaisèla Terrasses du Larzac Red Rhone Blend 2006

Acker buy. CVed 3/25/20. Next vintage apparently a RP 98 which makes this true crazy buy. Indeed a power forward but lithe and impressive wine off substance wit that long finish. A well made wine indeed. Overpowered the modest diner food though. — 15 days ago
