Vintage 2007 | My goodness. Chaume is such a privileged location. And happily... one that a lot of people do not know yet. Claude Papin is a top winegrower. Mahony colour. Deep mahony. A smell with figs and honey. Lavendel honey. Awesome balanced taste. A Chenin Blanc that belongs to the top of the world. | Paired with duck liver from Hofstede de Blaak — 2 months ago
Vintage 2009 | My Friday starter of the weekend is the ‘Coteaux du Layon’ of the renown De Fesles. Beautiful Chenin Blanc with honey impressions, pear, great balance. It is seductive when young, but after ten years it gets só luscious. A treat. | paired with ground liver pate — 3 months ago
It is mind blowing how chenin Blanc has the potential to produce such long lasting fresh wines. Full bodied, apricot which is mouth filling and unctuous yet does not overpower you and stays fresh making you go for the next glass. Magnificent bottle from “den Eddy”. — 5 days ago
Dessert wine, botrytis, deliciously balanced — 16 days ago
Fresh oak. Residual sugars give a lovely dry caramel apple with warm spices. Not sweet. Balanced, thoughtful, interesting. As it warms it gets heavier.
We're drinking with smoked pork and poultry, and it holds up. Also works with pecan pie.
Would pair well with a grilled steak if you don't enjoy reds. — 2 months ago
Vintage 2014 | Sunday lunch aperitive. Beautiful chenin blanc that show all its characteristics. Colour with gold reflection. A smell with dried apricot, Turkish delight, hint of mango. Sweet taste with enough acidity to express elegance. In former days this used to be a white Anjou, now it is classified as Coteaux de l’Aubance. Hard working family François and Gwenaelle Hery, that operates in the shade of more well known vintners. — a month ago
Smells of ripe Chenin. Browned apple cores and melted cinnamon. A thick, big boy - round and the tiniest bit oily.
Tastes like baked red apples and orange pulp and lemon zest and a little bitter from jasmine tea.
Absurd for the value as is usually the case with these guys. — a month ago

Vintage 1997 | awesome wine from Chenin Blanc with honey and apricot smell, pure taste with great balance, a real gem. One of the best bottles from the cellar to celebrate my fathers birthday. | paired with bluecheese — 3 days ago
