My monthly Monday Burger Night and I shared this one. My first time cracking into my Corison single vineyard allocation and I’m so happy I did. The beauty and freshness of this one is next level. Decanted about 30 minutes and it continued to evolve over course of evening. Impeccably balanced, powerful, yet refined. — 3 days ago
What an amazing gift from @Paul K! Such finesse—this wine is elegant, balanced, and pretty. Begs for food, and I suspect has a broader pairing profile than other CS. The only criticism I can make, if it is even a criticism, is that this is too balanced such that’s hard to remember one distinguishing characteristic. I think this is what wine strives to be—part of something, but t not the focus. Thanks, @Paul K. — 13 days ago
Double decant for sediment and pour (lots of chunky/fine sediment). A striking still dark ruby red color with bricking. On the nose: wonderful fragrant nose of brambly red fruit, leather, loamy earth, mint, pencil lead. Taste: smooth, elegant wine with dried red fruit, cedar, dried herbs, tar, smokey earth, gravel with a medium plus finish. YUM! Still hanging in there and a pleasure to drink. — 11 days ago
Medium body, vibrant color with green hues and a pronounced nose of green mango, wet stone and some straw or a slight grassy element. Really a beautiful dry Riesling, with the mineral, green and grassy elements continuing on the palate with a slight acidity. — 7 months ago
This is what every Cabernet Sauvignon should taste like. Despite being from Italy instead of California, this Cabernet has the richness of a Corison or other top Cabernet Sauvignon, but for less money. Deep intense stewed fruit to start with plum and blackberry, rich earthiness, chocolate and tobacco, then perfect tannins to finish. And aged just the right amount now to smooth out the tannins. Buy some if you can find it. At $67.50, this Cabernet Sauvignon was an extraordinary value. — a year ago

Here we have the Corison 2012 Kronos Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. It’s deep garnet & overflowing with characteristics such as ripe blackberry, plum, cassis, blueberry, mulberry, black cherry, fresh purple fig, violet, rose, roasted bell pepper, star anise, cedar, sandalwood, vanilla, nutmeg, clove, leather, tobacco, crushed stones, and graphite.
On the palate it’s dry, with refreshing acidity, a medium (+) body, reserved alcohol (13.7% ABV), fine tannins and a lingering finish. It’s outstanding – balanced, layered, elegant, & powerful.
