@Delectable Wine It would be great if really good wines would Trend again, as opposed to literally anything that could be 'purchased' via the Shop Banquet platform, it's just wrong and against the beautiful Community we have here. Just my 2¢. — 4 years ago
Wine 2 from Nobel banquet (photos not allowed, found via search in app) was youthful and intense, tannins not too obtrusive, and with anise, red and black cherries, and leafy - went perfectly with the ”chicken and porridge”. — a year ago
Absolutely splendid! Enjoyed with a SNARFs Italian sandwich. This wine is underrated and good luck finding it in Colorado… a vaccum for quality. Brought this back from Mecca in my luggage. Nice one to drink to your face on Coors 150th anniversary in Golden, CO. Enough of a rant. Thanks for reading! Another moment wasted in the company of JC, amen. — 2 years ago
Beautiful and gold, almost too easy drinking with ripe apples, nutmeg, raisin pastry… it’s positively autumnal - perfect for toasting to a new home - and letting go of our first ever home, which we bought when we were on a Coors budget! How far we’ve come! — 4 years ago
Wine 1 from the Nobel banquet, this first one was amazing, salty, bready, great mousse, tart apples and floral notes. — a year ago
From half bottle at what I believe is Australia’s best Cantonese restaurant which is Flower Drum in Melbourne, and has been for 48 years. I had the Chefs banquet of 6 small courses. No notes on the wine but a quality producer from a quality terroir in the Macedon Ranges. Definitely cool climate and on the lean side. Great with food. — 2 years ago

A few days late but here is my annual tribute to Gustav Meier. He was loved dearly by six(?) decades of students and colleagues. As worldly and as sophisticated as he was, this great man had terrible taste in alcohol. There’s a Belgian style brewery near school where he would only order Coors Light from. His go to scotch was Cutty Sark. For wine, he preferred those gaudy Californian merlots that got deservedly dunked on in Sideways. Whenever I brought him a bottle of wine, I always got him a right bank Bordeaux. Perhaps my hints at how wonderful merlot can be were too subtle. It’s been nine years but we all miss him dearly. I may no longer be a conductor but I can still hear many teachings of his as if he is standing next to me. “Get out of their way and just trust them!” I need constant reminders of this invaluable piece of advice whether I am parenting or working with a client.
