When Lafon is on they’re so damn good and 2011 Genevrieres is superb, with notable density and concentration for the vintage, and perfectly developed for age 13, with a seamless balance of richness and elegance. It’s captivatingly aromatic with defined fruit, pastry cream and toasted macadamias layered in stony minerality, and the palate is so elegant and satiny with balanced acidity and a long, silky finale. Just gorgeous. — 2 months ago
Getting a little long in the tooth, but still very drinkable if you like the tertiary stuff. Still some fruit hanging on. Liked the palate more than the nose. Time to drink up. — 6 months ago
Medium lemon colour . Lovely lemon, buttered pastry nose , still so fresh and lively . Mineral with a honeysuckle note , touch of blanched almond . On the palate quite rich and complex , with high acidity and mineral , honied , brioche notes , still quite fresh though with lots of creamy lemon hints. Long mineral tinged finish . Lovely now and over the next 5-10 years . — 12 days ago

3.4. Very nice red Bordeaux blend. On sale for $23.99 — 4 months ago
Orange tinged gold colour . Very fruit driven still , lots of yellow fruits , crystallised orange peel , clementines , vanilla , spiced apricots . On the palate quite rich and decadent , lots of ripe yellow fruits , apricot , peach and then mandarin and caramelised orange . Touches of honey , vanilla , creme brûlée. Slightly bitter caramel tinged finish , with good vibrant acidity, balanced alcohol , long and elegant finish . Tastes so young still , maybe having been recorked in 2005 has something to do with that . Drinking well now but will still be perfect in another 20-30 years — 6 months ago

Epic vintage that is just starting to open up. Accessible but a lot more complexity should develop with time, based on the secondary characteristics that started to show with air — 25 days ago
