Closson Chase Vineyard Prince Edward County Chardonnay 2014

Local Chardonnay that delivers. Buttery with lots of acidity and honey melon and lemon peal. Delightfully balanced. — 2 months ago

Carhartt Vineyard

Chase the Blues Away Rancho Santa Ynez Rosé Grenache 2018

Opens up with floral, strawberry and red berries notes. Upon first taste some strawberry and subtle watermelon, nice acidity going. Medium body and leaning towards the dry spectrum of wines. A bit of a bite at the end but not offensive. Perfect summer wine, had it alongside some fresh ceviche — 5 months ago

Everything from this winery is excellent. This was a darker Pinot, well balanced, paired great with a mediterrean meal. — 5 months ago

La Follette

Sun Chase Vineyard Chardonnay 2017

The only way to get the prior bottle stink off is to burn it off! Definitely the hottest chips I’ve had,
Chard isn’t bad either
Jeb & Parker/lisa 94, but since I found for $30.00 instead of $50.00 from the winery its a 95-96

Planted on the west-facing hillside where the cool Petaluma Gap collides with Sonoma Mountain, this site overlooks a broad sweep of the county from the San Pablo Bay to north Santa Rosa. Our Chardonnay block with an east-west row aspect sits on a sun-drenched, rocky incline at 1000' where fruit yields are naturally limited with small clusters and aromatic fruit.

76 clone
Whole-cluster pressing, 100% native yeast primary fermentation, 100% wild malolactic fermentation
11 months in low toast, air-dry 3-year-old French oak, 25% new

Stag's Leap Wine Cellars

Chase Creek Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2008

David T

Social distancing FaceTime dinner & wine with friends. It has been too long since we have gotten together. I did not take real-time notes as I normally do.

Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars has had up, down & up again periods in their history. However, one thing that I enjoy is the style of their wines after 8-10 plus years in bottle.

For me, the dead giveaway when you taste their wines blind are the beautiful coffee & expresso notes they show.

The body was full round, rich & just lush. Full spectrum of ripe dark fruits. Tobacco, soft leather, gentle graphite, dry top soil, nicely extracted expresso notes, dark & purple flowers. Excellent acidy, elegant, lush, well balanced fruit & earth that persists nicely.

Photos of, Stag’s Leap Winery estate, the swinging ball pendulum in their cellar, event room and tasting bar/room.
