Vacation bottle from trip to Lac Vieux Desert last week. I don’t remember all the nuances, but it was very good. — 4 years ago
Not too sweet, slightly acidic but quite buttery. Good parts of a Chardonnay without a ton of oakiness or too much richness. — 5 years ago
A nose of lemon, lime and melon with a slight touch of ok but nothing too much. The palate shows a crisp acidity with salinity and yet enough richness and a nice roundness to make it very balanced, fairly good length too. Enjoyed at the lake by a beautiful crazy hot summer day.
Nez de citron, lime, melon et un petit peu de boisé aussi mais à peine. Bouche saline et tranchante, avec une belle rondeur aussi, assez riche, et une longueur intéressante. Très bon sur le bord du lac. 90-91 — 6 years ago
Oxidative nose gives way to a wine of elegance and finesse with some tannins of the finish . Tasted at Atmosphere in Bourget Du Lac France . — 8 years ago

Great wine to go with our Christmas tourtiere ( meat pie) from the Lac St Jean region. — 6 years ago
Having 1999 bottle. Not a typical Syrah, has scents of lac on the first nose, although very elegant and balanced on the palette. — 7 years ago
Just lovely — 7 years ago
Warm vanilla and sherry trifle notes bordering on sponge cake with candied orange peel and cloves, as well as caramel apple, baked pear, baklava and bahri dates in this nose-feast. Hot entry with heavy oak that bites like a thorny rose stem, burnt brittle, toasted black sesame, leather whips, black pepper, vanilla bean, cedar, spicy tobacco with a squirt of grape seed extract, lingers on an wooden point that suggests cypress, but my mind returns to lac and wood stain, if they were edibles. There is also an igneous quality to the whole. The wooden Arrow of rye whiskey: Hot hot hot! #Willet #whiskey #whisky #rye #ryewhiskey #rarewhisky #barrel — 8 years ago
Not an expert in burgundy but I liked it a lot. It was a risky bottle that was stored in unknown conditions. 2009 drunk in 2024. Nevertheless, it showed great balance of acidity, sweetness and tannins, although somewhat disassembled structure. Power manifests itself when you sip but not for long. First notes were lac and leather, then periods of quietness, but then evolved with fresh oaky notes, then jammed wild strawberries, and then freshly crushed ripe blueberries. Overall evolution was not long but did driver very very pleasant experience. — 2 years ago

Another delicious rendition of the “Chateau Lagrange Blanc.” Beautiful fragrance seemingly melds a little herbal, gooseberryish SB with characteristic lanolin and orchard fruit Semillon notes (I have no idea what the blend is here.) Deep, lovely, soft minerality too. Impeccable balance in the mouth. Nice but gentle acids keep the deep, long, dry palate fresh. Such a great value too. — 10 months ago
