Really fun to experience a rose’ from the ‘ball’ of Italy’s foot, Ciro’ ! Presented a light crisp wine with floral notes and a quick, dry finish. — 6 years ago

Ciro Rose unlike any other — 8 months ago
Fresh and salty! Love it! — 8 months ago
Sweet on the first sip; very little smoke but a bit there; creamy but not lactic; in the mouth more biased towards the veggie/synthetic flavors which you only get excellent Mezcal. Love — 3 years ago

Ciro Doc Bianco paired very well with beef agnolotti. — 5 years ago
Another pinot nero from Ciro at Le Volpe e l’uva...and another winner. Has more depth to the palate than previous ones we’ve had from the latest shipment, this went amazingly well with Vanessa’s turkey bolognese over fresh egg fettucini. Yum. — 6 years ago

Delicious. Complex, nice acidity, high minerality. Nice honey brioche from lees. — 8 months ago
The 2022 vintage Fiano di Avellino from Ciropicariello starts with a rich straw-almost golden color to the eyes and unfolds in time on the nose with abundant floral notes and hints of honey. With a chance to breathe the palate evolves into a surprisingly mouth-coating viscosity that’s held together by its mineral driven heart. It’s a fuller-bodied example of the grape than what I’ve come across before and it earns it. — 10 months ago
Delicious Tuscan blend house wine. — 3 years ago
Smooth oil, almost orangish. Lush and minerally. Notes of apricot, pears, and cheese rind — 6 years ago
Yet another winner from Ciro at Le Volpe e l’uva, this is a pinot nero from Tuscany (as opposed to Sudtriol, which is where I usually expect to find these). Just a terrific wine with a nose reminiscent of sour cherry with hints of leather, tobacco, and spice (nutmeg?). Beautifully balanced on the palate, with enough acidity for it to keep up with dinner (lemon and ricotta ravioli with a tomato-based pumpkin-chipotle sauce) but not so much that you can’t thoroughly enjoy it on its own. Really terrific. — 6 years ago

Go ahead, taste it blind and try not to call it young stainless steel champagne. Once you’re aware, then you start noticing the mineral reality and slightly saline quality. Great work — 4 months ago
