Opened this last night, poured into decanter To around midnight, fell asleep, woke up a 4 am and said "shit, my Tenuta!" Covered decanter with plastic wrap. And now, 20 hours later, it's smooth...

It's shy of the Ciacci Piccolomini Pianrosso, and I actually give a nod to the non-reserva version (see prior rating). — 8 years ago
World of Wines 3/29/16. Dark berry nose, mild structure, nice smokiness. Would pair well with hearty salad. — 9 years ago
I'd do this again...hell of a late night wine. Soft but bold. — 11 years ago
Took a minute but did really greatly enjoy this wine after it opened up. Slightly chilled helped. Good before and with meal. Cosgrove. — 17 days ago
What a beauty! Black cherry, plum, licorice, a bit of spice. Long, long, looooong finish. So balanced with structure, but mellow as well. Sublime. — 2 years ago
Stunning how this came around with air and baby backs cole slaw and spud salad for the love of labor — 9 years ago
Declassified Brunello grapes from a difficult vintage. Dusty red fruits, barnyard scents, clay, cloves. Juicy, creamy fruits, wrapped in subtle oak, hints on black pepper. Good length. Solid QPR for the '14. — 9 years ago
Sharp and tart at first sip, but after decanting and letting it air out it really came around. Red cherry and balsamic. — 11 years ago
This wine was decanted 2 hours prior to consumption. At first taste it was very tight and closed. Better 2 hours in. Nose of tar, smoke, mahogany, and tobacco; inter-mixed with a bit of earth and red fruit. On the palate not very generous but complex. The second glass was better than the first. The next day after leaving the decanter open to the room temp air this became more integrated and the fruit level improved. Classic too young Brunello. Currently 88 pets, better in the future. Currently the Ciacci Piccolomini is better, but it is hard to tell which wine will be better in 5-10 years. — 10 years ago

Splash decanted and enjoyed over the course of two hours. The 2019 pours a deep garnet color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of Morello cherry, red flowers, black tea, dried green herbs and gravelly earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and has that Ciacci Piccolomini silkiness. I felt the 2019 was a little reticent for the first 30min (not at all surprised) but opened beautifully after that and continued to build steam until the last glass. Very easy to enjoy and fabulous with bolognese. Drink now with a 30min decant and through 2044 — 25 days ago
