Transcendent experience—waves of honey, apricot, salted caramel, white button mushroom, waxy and viscous without being at all ponderous. Remarkably fresh for its age — 20 days ago
Brilliant. It’s faded and lost its way. But I love it. You won’t. Unless you understand what it’s like to have too old chenin that is of the highest caliber. Is it easy drinking? It’s not. Do I love it? I do. 2002 — 15 days ago
Faded? I’m almost shocked…thought a few decades in bottle (my favorite Huet bottling, I think) wouldn’t hurt too much. I guess I better have at it, then!!@Timothy Eustis
@Peter Sultan, of course not, but Delectable (like UnTappd, the beer app I also use) has very limited “venue” apps, so, like my buddy @Severn Goodwin, who once checked in a wine at a Canadian toll booth, we all look for funny venues!! On UnTappd, I was able to create a custom venue that I use, but have never figured out how to do so on Delectable?!?!
Oh shoot, I was really starting to enjoy the image of Delectable-ites toasting with their Chinon while watching as their car gets scrubbed. All kidding aside, there was a shift on Delectable several years back I noticed when it became impossible to locate myself ( though w restaurants it works well); apparently my closest drinking venue is the synagogue across the street!@Doug Powers
