One of the best. So smooth. What makes this oriel so great is the creaminess on the finish. It’s definitely tart, but the balance is perfect. — 8 days ago
Big, beautiful, velvet, bakers chocolate, espresso, dark fruit. Delicious. — 2 months ago
Notes from Sensus Wine: 25-55 year old Syrah planted in calcareous clay, 21 day skin contact, fermented in 228L Bourgogne barrels of 3rd-15th pass.
Tasting notes: structured and still incredibly fresh. It's Syrah, but it's not too over the top. Tannins and fleshy characteristics are balanced, and the acids on this are overall very buoyant. I was expecting more funk, but this bottle is incredibly clean and very fruit focused.
In all, it's a Calek wine, and every bottle I've had from him is full of personality, vision, and intent. — 2 months ago

Citrus, lime, acidic but well-balanced. Good summer-time wine. — 25 days ago
Phenomenal. 2014. Howell Mountain. Vann doesn't get any better. I'm sure this is much better than anything Josh A. is drinking right now. — a month ago
Ripe, but with tons of acidity to back it up. Great food wine. Raspberries, violets, olives, herbs, balsamic. — 2 months ago
Missed this at our blind tasting on daylight savings time, but did at least get the possible varietal, and got to drink this for dinner, so I got that going for me. It tasted older and oxidized, but had big acid that I didn’t pick up completely. — 3 months ago
