Château La Fleur Des Rouzes

Fleury Pere & Fils

Fleur de l'Europe Brut Champagne

A distinct shade of medium old gold with with persistent little bubbles. The nose is resplendent with apples of the green variety. An abundance of citrus scents along with yeast and a touch of nuttiness. Just a bit of smeared honey aromas goes a long way here.

Biodynamic and beautiful. Zero dosage and aged for six years, the strength here is balance and purity. Terroir driven and electric, this is an incisive and focused champagne. Composed of 85/15 Pinot Noir/Chardonnay and wonderfully dry. Lemons and dried herbs on the palate along with cherries and apples. Long and dry and lovely.

Domaine Sylvain Pataille

Fleur de Pinot Marsannay Pinot Noir Rosé 2020

Serious Rose. Pours clear, dark salmon color. Dried strawberry and saline aromas. Medium plus body and acidity. Wild red berries zap the back sides of your tongue, while minerals zip straight down the middle. Clean lasting finish, repeating the nose and palate, leaving your palate refreshed and ready for another sip. — 8 days ago

Château La Fleur-Pétrus

Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend 2014

More medium than full bodied. Ripe currants, asphalt, liquorice, green olives, spice. Classy and well mannered compared to some recent 2014 Right Bank wines I’ve had. — 2 months ago

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!

Scents of plum, blackberry, currant, and chocolate. Flavors are similar, with blackberry, plum sauce, and soil. Tannins are still firm, but, well integrated and mix with black fruits on the long finish. This one goes on for over a minute. Drinking well now, but showing no signs of slowing down. This should last another 10 plus years, but is in a nice place now.

Great with a NY strip, but even better with the balsamic glaze that complimented it. This pairs wonderfully with sweet dark fruit flavors.
