A little citrus. A little soft sweetness of unripe stone fruit. A tad bitter grass and olive oil. Very nice. — 2 months ago

Really enjoying! And I don’t love rose wines. Light and easy drinking. — 6 months ago
A savory red blend from Pessac-Léognan, 70% Merlot and 30% Cab Sauv and since it is aged more than 50% of the Merlot on terracota amphorae the tannins are as silky and gentle as it can get. Velvety and fresh mouthfeel. Already started to pick its prime time. Drinking now or within the next 3 years will just as great! — 10 months ago
Blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromas of ripe red fruit, rose petals, dried red flowers and eucalyptus. Red and black cherry/raspberry and boysenberry fruit on the palate along with additional notes of chocolate, toffee, savory spices and mint. Well integrated oak on the long and slightly chewy finish. Rustic, well balanced and beautifully aged. Thanks for sharing this one, Ron B! — 2 months ago
Very peculiar spectrum of aromas. Freshly cutted pineapple and pear. White peach and grapefruit. Very nice and long finish.
A bit flex on the mid palate but lingering pleasant finish — 5 months ago

Les Hauts de Larrivet Haut-Brion 2021
Pessac-Léognan AOC, Bordeaux, France 🇫🇷
Overview
Second wine of Château Larrivet Haut-Brion, this blend of 78% Sauvignon Blanc and 22% Sémillon showcases the elegance and freshness typical of white Bordeaux. It balances fruit intensity with minerality and spice, offering a refined but approachable profile.
Aromas & Flavors
Bright notes of lemon peel, orange zest, ripe melon, and honeyed lemon. Layers of lemon curd, pineapple, and white peach skins are interlaced with spice, vanilla, and mint, plus a touch of green apple for lift.
Mouthfeel
Medium-to-full-bodied with rich texture and lively acidity. The palate carries citrus and orchard fruits with a spicy edge, leading to a long, refreshing finish. Balanced and energetic, with power but no heaviness.
Winemaking Notes
Carefully selected fruit is vinified to highlight Sauvignon Blanc’s freshness and Sémillon’s structure. Aging in oak adds depth and subtle spice while preserving clarity of fruit.
Food Pairing
Ideal with grilled scallops, roasted chicken with herbs, lobster risotto, or creamy goat cheese. Its structure also allows it to handle lightly spiced Asian seafood dishes.
Verdict
A well-structured and aromatic Bordeaux Blanc that punches above its “second wine” status. Already drinking beautifully but with the potential to age gracefully for several years. Elegant, versatile, and a smart buy from Pessac-Léognan. — 22 days ago
