4/2024. Decant and enjoy a nice Syrah. — 16 days ago
Opened this, and for once, let this breathe for an hour.
Lovely visual, crystalline presentation, the nose is clean and laced with cola. On the mid-palate, this could be a traditional burg. Light on its feet, relaxed acidity and moderate tannins. Beautifully balanced, just lacked the sweetness we’ve come to expect from Cali pinots. Cherries and cola dominate. My mindset isn’t organized for this tonight.
Many years of runway ahead of this. — 2 years ago
Everything a good Pinot Noir should be. There are subtle fruit notes but still a medium body wine that hold up well. Note the alcohol content is 13%, which for a Cal wine seems low. Kudos to the winemaker for making such an impressive wine without bumping up the alcohol content. FYI, the 2021 was a Costco close out in the San Diego area. — a month ago

2019 vintage. Decanted. Great nose. Medium body. Much more powerful than previous vintages. Zippy and almost aggressive vs lighter and passive. Not my fave AVA as I've gotta be in the mood for the ethereal, ephemeral and fleeting trifecta this AVA hard-core sponsors. Yet...something about the region...encapsulates the thrill of the pinot chase better than most. 4.20.24. — 7 days ago
