This is a nice wine with a lot going for it! Big graphite on the nose, blackened, brackish fish bones. Resinous tar, maple nut, charcoal, graphite, slate-y blackberry that morphs into dried black currant, espresso with chicory, licorice, black raisin, and olive tapenade! Stupendous! Not for fruit flies, but crypt dwellers: put down those frightened teens, and pick up a glass of these magma-seared, skeletal, zombie piranhas! Santé! — 8 years ago
Black gold! Rich dark fruits. Really full bodied. Delicious — 9 years ago
Beautiful afternoon in Conn Valley at the ACV Cave Dwellers harvest event. Todd definitely knows how to throw a party - music, great food and plenty of wine. The '12 and '13 Cabs and BdX blends are showing well. Only snapped a pic of the '13 Reserve Cab, but the '13 Eloge was our favorite of the day and was an easy 9.4. — 8 years ago

Just a nice pleasant smooth Sangiovese from start to finish. — 5 years ago
This was solid but didn’t really go anywhere great and I wanted it to so bad. Cherry tobacco, blackberry and cedar. This bottle and the 3 others I brought to Wisconsin from Chicago all endured a ride in a wine suitcase in the back of a truck in the 15 degree Midwest winter. 3 of the bottles—Voerzio, Beringer and Harlan Maiden—all performed below expectations. The PM Les Pavots, however, was excellent. While I’ve never opened a Voerzio that young I’ve had consistently better experiences with the same vintages of the Beringer reserve and Maiden. I’m wondering if you cold weather dwellers think the cold transport played some role in what happened here. — 6 years ago

1989 vintage. Tasted 5.5.23 (9.5), 4.4.23 (6 different btls-avg 9.4) and 12.9.22 (9.6). Above average fill for the age and impressive cork (about 70% saturated). Decanted and tasted over the course of two hours. Threw a decent amount of powdery sed. Medium nose slightly muted for the first 10 minutes or so but then came roaring to life. Yes, still the hallmark blueberries and cocoa powder along with a dash of raspberry but bigg graphite with this bottle. Drank consistently great for 1.75 hours, then seemed to lose a little steam at the very end. Not improving but still think cellar dwellers need to be popped in the next five years to enjoy the magic before it fades. 3.28.24. — 8 months ago
