This is a delicious Bordeaux blend from Columbia Valley in Washington State.
Very dark in color, and looks very young.
Full-bodied, smooth and bold, with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with nice complexity.
Showing blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, raisins, dried figs, vanilla, cedar, licorice, cola, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, spices, earth and coffee.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.
This 8 year old is peaking now, and will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 years.
Smooth and elegant. Rich and extracted, with a great mouth feel.
Good by itself or with food. A great wine to sip on and talk about.

Needs 3 hours to open up properly, but good right out of the bottle as well.
I paired it with a Charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.
A blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Petit Verdot, 17% Merlot, 7% Cab Franc and a splash of Malbec. Winemaker is Philippe Melka.
15.4% alcohol by volume.

Referred to as the “Baby Grange,” blend of 57/43 Cab Sauv & Shiraz, aged for 12 months in American oak, partly in previous-vintage Grange casks. Dark Ruby with aromas of ripe black fruits, sweet and complex spice. On the palate juicy black cherry and blackberry flavors with notes of cacao and toasty spices. Well balanced with acidity, full ripe tannins, long ending with smoky spice, fruit well integrated with oak, drink over next 10 years+, will only get better. Tasted twice! Nice! — 4 years ago
A blend from (57%) Estate fruit, and a sizable portion (18%) Mes Filles Vineyard. Medium Ruby color, purple edges, with aromas of ripe fruits, floral and complex spice. On the palate concentrated flavors of raspberry, plum and currants with pepper, tea, herbs, cinnamon and oak, soft tannins on well balanced structure. Full body, long finish, ending with spice, ripe fruit and warm woody tones. Very Nice! — a year ago
Nose has blackberry compote, green vegetable notes, pencil lead, dried cherry, warm carbon steel, blackberry jam and faint cedar closet.
Palate has dried blackberry, cherry, dried blueberry with integrated but mild tannins.
Purchased in February 2005; $37.
Paired to grilled lamb chuck (shoulder) chops.
Cork pulled for slow oxidation, 12H.
57% Cabernet Sauvignon / 36% Merlot / 7% Petit Verdot
A very solid showing, but in the drink-now-stage from 2022-2026. Glad we opened to enjoy tonight. — 3 years ago
Over the weekend I opened the 2018 Château Pgélan Ségur Saint-Estèphe Left Bank Bordeaux. A blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon and 43% Merlot.
On the nose was very expressive and floral, black cherry, blackberry, fig, black currant, licorice, creamy chocolate, iron, violets and earth.
On the palate was black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, licorice, spice, minerality, light oak, herbal and dark rich earth.
This is a full bodied wine wiyg smooth fresh mouthfeel mouthwatering medium + acidity and medium + grainy tannins that leaves you with a long black fruit earthy graphite finish. This is a beautiful wine and worth the price. You can drink now or cellar for a later date. Have a wonderful week ahead and please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 3 years ago

Another solid vintage of this Haut-Medoc Bordeaux. Blend of Merlot (57%), Cabernet Sauvignon (31%) and Petite Verdot (13%). Very dark ruby/purple color. Aromas of violets, fresh herbs and plums. Pallet notes plum and blueberry fruit flavors with hints of black licorice and cocoa. Very fruit forward, savory and fresh tasting with a bit of creamy tannin on the long finish. A pleasant and slightly chalky texture. — 3 years ago
The second wine we had for our Thanksgiving dinner was the 2018 Chateau Malartic Lagrviére. This is from Pessac-Léognan in Bordeaux a blend of 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc.
On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, black currant, herbs, cedar, cigar box, crushed gravel and rich earth.
On the palate there is black cherry, blackberry, stewed black plum, licorice, black currant, dry gravel and earth.
This wine is full bodied with medium + acidity and medium+ to high grippy mouthcoating tannins that lead into a long black fruit woodsy earthy finish. We did have a third wine for dinner but it was a wine I had rated a few days back that finished the night off just right. Continued good health and safety to each and every one of you. I bought this bottle in Florence around 2019. I later found out the shop was owned by Antinori - the producer of the wine. An excellent Super Tuscan from Bolgheri. 57% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot. Dark Ruby with a tawny rim starting to develop. Classic Bordeaux descriptors of Cassis, herbs, tobacco and hints of cocoa with oak totally integrated. A rich and mouth filling palate such that it could have been from a new world vineyard in a good vintage. This is comparable in quality to a good Super Second. Interestingly the 2007 had the major change of Syrah being eliminated from the blend in favour of Cabernet Franc. An outstanding Bordeaux blend which exceeded expectations. I should keep an eye out for more bottles. — 5 months ago
