Moulin-à-Vent Gamay 2016

Light garnet dress, nice shine. Superb fine nose: strawberry, raspberry, pepper, sweet spices, aerial and floral shades with character. Nose that pinote. Structured and light mouth, medium + acidity, absolutely ready to drink. Semi-light body, paradoxical with chew, and delicate tannins. Endelived, charming, discreetly long finish between raspberry, pepper, spices and blood orange (?) A fine price/pleasure ratio to have in the cellar, in the light-bodied category.

Robe grenat légère, bel éclat. Nez superbe, fraise, framboise, poivre, épices douces, nuances aériennes et florales avec du caractère. Nez qui pinote. Bouche structurée et légère, acidité moyen +, absolument prêt à boire. Corps demi-léger, paradoxal avec de la matière, et des tanins délicats. Finale friande, charmeuse, discrètement longue entre framboise, poivre, épices et orange sanguine (?) Un fin rapport prix/plaisir à avoir en cave, dans la catégorie light-bodied.

Just hits you like a hammer with its stunning energy; Lemon curd, gun powder, limestone, and macadamia nuts. Incredibly long finish with absolute laser acidity. Crazy good, and makes me (1) wish that I had bought more bottles at the winery (I think they were about 35€ each?) and (2) question just how long I can and should keep the last bottle in my modest cave du jour. — 4 years ago

Really nice villages Volnay. You can taste the stem inclusion here. Lifted aromatics, red fruits. Stems add an herbal element on the palate. 2013s continue to show well. — 2 years ago

Un beau magnum vieilli 5 ans en cave. On retrouve la générosité gourmande des vins du Beaujolais en macération carbonique, ici avec de belles notes d’évolution qui lui donne du relief au nez et en bouche, du des notes de fleurs séchées et truffes. Une belle gourmandise. Ça se boit tout seul et avec quasiment tout.

A beautiful magnum aged 5 years in a cellar. We find the greedy generosity of Beaujolais wines in carbon maceration, here with beautiful notes of evolution that gives it relief to the nose and mouth, notes of dried flowers and truffles. A beautiful treat. It's drunk alone and with almost everything.

Morgon Gamay 2018

First day of opening of the Terrasses in France, and I find this beautiful Morgon a la carte restaurant. (Luck!) What more to say than the comments do not already say? It is a superb wine, both young and with a few years in Cave. Jean Foillard produces remarkable wines at reasonable prices. I love it!

Premier jour d’ouverture des Terrasses en France, et je trouve ce beau Morgon à la carte du restaurant. (Chance!) que dire de plus que les commentaires de ne disent pas déjà? C’est un superbe vin, aussi bien jeune sur les fruits, qu’avec quelques années en Cave. Jean Foillard produit des vins remarquables à des prix raisonnables. J’adore !

White peach, gooseberry, cave minerals, cigar box, sprite, and fry grease on the nose. Juicy stone fruit, minerally cave-aged mild hard cheese, tobacco spice, ginger ale and white pepper lingering on a thin but medium long finish. Very complex and interesting; fantastic value. — 4 years ago

Côte de Brouilly Gamay 2018

Gamay, which is distinguished from carbonic maceration Bojo, by its aerial vegetal character almost infused with many nuances. It is nonetheless a light wine with paradoxically intense fruit (sour cherry). The finish reveals fine and persistent tannins that are very appreciable for its price. Will « Pinote » like Burgundy wines in 2,3 years !

Gamay qui se distingue des Bojo macération carboniques, par son caractère végétal aérien presque infusé au nombreuses nuances. Ca n’en reste pas moins un vin léger au fruité (griotte) paradoxalement intense.. La finale déploie des tanins fins et persistants très appréciables pour son prix. Il pinotera à merveille avec 2 3 ans en cave.
