Very dry and lemony, but there are better cavas. — 6 years ago

Gran Reserva Cava Macabeo-Xarel-lo-Parellada

I’m going to be posting backlogged wines from this weekend for awhile! This was a solid winner. Cavas are so beautiful. This one was complex with a finish that didn’t quit. I need more. — 6 years ago

Recaredo

Gran Reserva Brut Nature Terrers Xarello Macabeo Parellada 2010

Such a surprise! Still a Cava but with a great opulent complexity as a good champagne.
I knew Recadero was perceived among the best Cavas. But this Extra Brut 2010 was by far a top one. A great price/quality too!

Brut Vintage Cava Blend 2014

Cavas rock. This is a 2014 vintage. The nose is light bread dough with hints of citrus. Fresh and clean on the palate with luscious bubbles. — 5 years ago

Aria Brut Cava Pinot Noir

I adore Cavas and this one does not disappoint. Wonderful taste packed in a $10 bottle of wine, fresh, dry, tiny bubbles, gorgeous raspberry pink color, a true crowd-pleaser — 6 years ago

If you think there's a better wine for a warm summer day, please tell me immediately. This is how I like whites - decent, dry apple/citrus fruitiness with a crisp finish and a little zest hanging around to keep you interested. Oh, and this thing has a little bubbles to it! Maybe half as much as your average prosecco (or even less) but definitely a little carbonation for a little extra texture. Wish I had discovered this earlier! Drank while finishing up some late work on a Friday and before going out for the night, but this would work equally as well at 2:30pm hanging out under an umbrella near a pool.

Do yourself a favor and Google/Wikipedia the origination of this wine, if they can ever increase production it's going to displace the generic proseccos and cavas of the U.S. market.
