#6 in Wine Spectators Top 100 for 2014. See previous note. The aromatics of vanilla oak in its youth have mitigated and the whole wine is much more balanced. A deep rich red. Aromas of red and black cherry and a little dried orange peel. Medium bodied palate - very Chianti Classico from a good vintage. It will continue to improve through this decade to 2030. It needed 13 years for everything to come together. Luckily I have a few left. — 7 months ago

The 2020 Montefalco Rosso is a dynamic blend of 70% Sangiovese, 15% Montepulciano and 15% Sagrantino. It opens with dusty rose, dried strawberries and worn-in leather. The palate is silky and supple, with ripe red and blue fruits, saline minerals and spice. Its acidity pops through the finale. $20.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, November 2023) — 6 months ago
Best wine in a while. Highly recommended. — 10 months ago
This has a polished surface feel that is modern, even though it is also quite authentic and traditional in its aromatic profile. — a year ago
Castello Romitorio Rosso Di Montalcino DOC 2018: Medium-bodied. Nice balanced tannins & acidity. Elegant nose. Bright red fruit flavors followed by herbs, tobacco, earth and a subtle touch of oak. The finish was smooth & lasting. Considering its age, this wine was intriguing, vibrant & fresh; a definite winner and that is why this RdM will be one of the wines offered tonight at the UHM wine fundraiser event.
PS: Can you tell we’re starting to get in the Halloween spirit. Cheers🍷🎃👻 — 3 years ago

Too young but still very nice with a 5h decant - suggest checking back in another 3-5 years. Tannins are very present, but the fruit and earth are very nice. Good acid too, especially for a hot vintage. — 6 months ago
