Love this wine; 2018 vintage — 2 years ago
Wow 98 is good. Mesmerizing aromatics of saffron, allspice and honeycomb with a silky liquid cashmere texture, dazzling length and racy acids. The whole package. As they say, liquid gold, and all that was needed for dessert. Great to be able to enjoy more than just a glass. 👑 — 4 years ago
Was explained to me as a warm cashmere sweater hug. Can’t say that’s not true. — 7 years ago
Pure crushed rocks and exotic fruits. Awesome cashmere texture. — 7 years ago
Love this! Smooth, easy drinking. — 7 years ago
Stony minerality of chardonnay meets complex fruit of muscat and viogner. Quite delish! — 8 years ago
The sleeper vintage, one at this time I bet to be even more showy than the illustrious 2000. It’s simply just ready to go after a short decant wafting from the glass with layers of cassis, black truffle, violets and licorice. This is a wine of texture and elegance, as Margaux should be—It’s liquid cashmere in the mouth with melting tannins and a black truffle and mineral inflicted finale that keeps on going. Superb showing tonight, with still a long life ahead. — 10 months ago
Bouquet of cinnamon, anise, fig, and worn leather commingled herb-scented red and dark cherry. Rich yet gentle palate with silky texture. Soft elegant tannins coats the mouth like wearing baby cashmere.
This is a bit more advanced than I thought it would be at 10 years - not a complain.
100% Tempranillo, 2012 is the first vintage without Merlot. — 4 years ago
Smothe easy to drink out of the bottle. — 5 years ago
The 1989 La Conseillante is one of the top performers in Pomerol and arguably now one of the best values. This bottle confirms that exuberance and joie-de-vivre on the nose, displaying the telltale crushed violets in bloom, with precious but controlled red and black fruit underneath. The palate is sumptuous from the start, presenting cashmere tannin and perhaps a little more glycerine in this bottle. The bravura finish leaves you grinning from ear to ear. Stunning, and it will remain on its plateau for many years. Tasted at the 1989 Bordeaux dinner at Hatched in London. (Neal Martin, Vinous, September 2019) — 7 years ago
My dad has saved this bottle for about 40 years, and decided to open to celebrate this year’s Father’s Day.
Beautiful amber color. Black pepper, blackcurrant, caramel, fig, honey, and hint of worn leather. Still very intense on the palate but sure footed and as smooth as cashmere. Complex and graceful. Really shows no sign of aging. This could go another 40 years. Paired with a wide range of Michelin 2-star Cantonese cuisine. Amazing experience.
Happy Father’s Day! — 2 years ago
This is really good. A little sour with espresso bitterness, but a cashmere mouthfeel and nice lingering finish. Not a ton of fruit, gives the aroma of an older wine despite being a youngish vintage. — 7 years ago
Absolutely complete: balanced and elegant! I could have let this go another couple years. Almost 6 years from harvest, this gem benefited from even rising and 5% RS...even so, the acids were like cashmere :) — 8 years ago

Pronounced blackberries, cassis, plums. Super fruity. Resolved but still noticeable tannins. Easy to drink. Medium length. Delicious. Great value for a weeknight dinner match. — 5 months ago
