Antonia Adelaide Ferreira Douro White Blend 2014

Only made twice this decade (yet). Interesting wine with acids and bitters in it. We were told it can age for decades (4!). — 7 years ago

Barca Velha Douro Red Blend 1985

Really excellent. Intense yet smooth, the age shows but only in a refined way. Finish goes on forever. Like really good old Bordeaux. — 10 years ago

Vinha Grande Douro Rosé Blend 2014

Fantastic rose. Bright and mineral, muted fruit notes to keep it round. Very pleasing. Complemented a vegan tajine dish well. Around $20 at D'Vines. — 11 years ago

Vinha Grande Douro White Blend 2015

2015 vintage fermented in all new French oak- amazing lack of oak flavor but great texture and volume from oak- the oak is not overt and the acidity is bright and delightful -lively and fun — 10 years ago

Reserva Especial Douro Red Blend 2007

Last had a bit under 3 years ago. Could use a ton more time. Probably would have called southern Rhone blind. Quite generous with lots of red fruit. Excellent acid and a bit of refinement on the finish give some sense that this is from somewhere else - in this case, higher altitude wines in the Douro valley that the producer uses in the best years for a reserva. Nice wine. — 7 months ago

Castas Escondidas Douro Red Blend 2019

Had it with friends. Dark rubi robe, nose of blackcurrant, spices and cherries. Very powerful and also elegant, this is great now but has lots of potential, say 5 to 7 years. We liked it a great deal and are looking to buy. — 3 years ago

Definitely a great wine to buy and forget about for a couple of years.
Let it sleep and come together and mature.
It sounds exciting.

Callabriga Douro Red Blend 2013

One of my favorite reds from Douro in north Portugal. Deep red violet color with beautiful tears on the glass. Forest berries and deep caramel aromas with an excellent dry finish. Pairs with red meats, game and very strong cheeses. — 9 years ago
