I used to sell a lot of Carmelo Rodero’s wines and am an acquaintance of his and his daughters. They make fantastic wines, I was told that in 2017 they didn’t make this wine because it was such a challenging vintage (frost, hail and extreme summer heat) that the few grapes they had needed to be saved for the crianza and above. It has been a long time since I had last tried this wine and I was very impressed. Pronounced aromas and flavours and a nice fine grained tannins. #qpr #riberadelduero #spain — 4 years ago
The 2007 vintage was spectacular. The 2011 less so. That being said, this producer stands heads over most Malbecs. Unfortunately it is no longer imported in the NY area. — 5 months ago
Fresh pith peach skin cloudy yeast super tasty — 3 years ago
Started off with sour cherry, lavender and the unmistakable smell of motor oil on a driveway. The mouthfeel was dry and minerally, but elegantly so, with a beautiful finish that balanced fruit and tannins. We paired it with steak but this would go well with anything. — 5 years ago
It shows the power of Ribera, even in a wet vintage like 2018. tannins are present. Expressive nose of ripe cherries, plums, chocolate, good acid, showing some tertiary, long life ahead. — 8 months ago

Absolutely delicious - one of the wines I’ve been most surprised of recently. Would never have guessed Argentinian Malbec blind - has a real old world character. Probably would have guessed something Italian with the excellent fruit/earth balance and the great lifting acid on the finish. Really very nice, and quite a value at $28. — 4 months ago
