Brought it home from England and really nice. Great acid and viscosity.

This wine won a silver at the first IEWA (Independent English Wine Awards) yesterday. This is a really well made wine and a cracking intro and beyond to Ortega for anyone interested in checking out a new grape. Burgundian-esque brand styling gives some indicator about the nature of the contents, but really this is no Chardonnay. Genuinely exciting stuff from this small output, high quality English producer. Try this wine!

Enjoyed it during a tasting at their winery. Tastes like a Viognier meets Roussanne. Funky wine the acidheads will enjoy. Pair with goat cheddar from Somerset!

Very dry and crisp. Reminded me of a Sauvignan blanc.. Although I prefered the fruitier non barel fermented one I had.

Non-barel fermented English ortega. Reminded me of a Marlborough sauv blanc.. Bold, bone dry, racy, sharp goosberries initially but then a smooth finish. Been keeping it 4 or 5 months for Christmas.
