Millésimé Brut Champagne Blend 2015

DCH
9.3

A treat of a vintage bottling and a bit of a steal at $60. More focused than NV bottlings I’m more accustomed to. Less busy, more naturally balanced letting a bit of complexity shine through. Nothing life changing, but you can spend a lot more on less impressive Champagne. From the bottle shop at Bern’s. — 2 months ago

Odin Vin de France Red Blend

Surprisingly both fruit forward and tannic, with Sandy, dusty tannins tightening things up at the outset. Nose of latex, black cherry, overripe plum, and even some hints of dark leather. Deep red in color, with some purple hues flecking to the edges, the palate is at first juice, with prominent ripe, red/black fruits, with a juiciness that lasts long after your first sip. There’s also a prominent freshness to the finish, menthol like, with hints of balsamic, steak juice, iron and eucalyptus at the finish, — 2 years ago

Charles VII Smooth Rosé Champagne Blend

Yes to a previous comment of strawberries and cream. Clean and just the right kind of dry. Pleasure to drink. — 4 years ago

Brut Champagne Blend

Popped and poured from magnum; enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. The Brut NV pours a deep straw color with a persistent mousse. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of tart apple, lemon curd, some white flowers, brioche and limestone minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. An easy, breezy Champer that’s an easy quaffer. Drink now. — 5 months ago

Brut Rosé Champagne Blend

My first experience with this producer. Popped and poured. A sort of pink salmon color with persistent mousse. Delicate red fruit and lightly toasted bread with strawberry jam on the nose. On the palate, peaches and raspberry. There’s good acid. The finish is dry and long. Great value. No disgorgement data. — 4 years ago
