Ugh YES! This is so good! This is the chiller summer tee of my dreams! Berries! But light, with minerality! — 7 years ago
2007 Saxum James Berry Vineyard Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah blend. 15.8% alcohol. Dark as midnight with a ruby rim. The nose positively leaps from the glass with anise, violets, creme de cassis, crushed berries and a hint of spearmint. On the palate, sweet, candied raspberry syrup with notes of cedar, cinnamon, baking spices, vanilla and a hint of black olives. Pure and intense with great concentration and wonderful structure. 2 minute finish and then some. The Mourvèdre component raises this wine to another level for me, and highlights the talent of @Justin Smith as a master blender. 99 points with the only impediment to perfection being that '06 SQN "A Shot In The Dark" from last week which still haunts my dreams. — 9 years ago

A tasting note for Camins 2 Dream Syrah from John Sebastiano Vineyard. Because I couldn’t find where else to log it. Limestone soil. Kirsch. 30% whole cluster. Juicy red cherry. Strawberry cotton candy. Vibrant color. Lifted acid tone. Tingly on the palate. — 4 years ago
Dreams are best when they come true. Needed 2+ hours of decanting and then provided a beautiful balance of flowers and cherry on the nose and enough tannins to give it strength. There is a reason for its reputation. If anything would have been better in 5+ years at least. A joy. — 7 years ago
If you can get #chateauneuf for under $30 and its THIS good, then anything is possible. Even your absurd unprofitable esoteric dreams. All of it. Red cherry and raspberry meet dark licorice and a little bit of that French oak bitter mocha thing (the latter 2 didn't come out until 30 minutes of breathing), and some anise herbal white pepper spice to finish. Decant maybe, def give it some time to open up. #rhone #sundayfunday — 10 years ago

Violet. Oak and vanilla. Blueberry jam. Fruity. 5 years is much better than 2 years tasted last time. alvaro palacios camins del priorat, Priorat in Catalunya 19 @3718, AD, 240521 — 2 years ago
Bought 32 bottles total. Drank them from 2007 - 2017. Each bottle was unbelievably good each and every time, but did mellow a little in the last 2 years. I would never have guessed a grenache would have tasted this bold and complex. Predominantly dark fruit, dark chocolate, and then some back end spice which I can only describe as what would happen if you rubbed pepper corns (a lot) some clove (not much) into saddle leather that had been stored once in a barn where tobacco had been smoked. This is one of those wines all my friends and I still mention at the top of “best wines ever” lists. It is the wine one dreams of after it’s all gone. — 7 years ago

2/2026. Not a big Pinot fan but this is good wine. Fruit and a nice dry finish. — 5 months ago
