Kicking off Sunday Funday. Thanks to my 5 year old for the small yellow flower in the pic. But it’s suiting for this light on its feet and bright krug with almond candy, brioche, and a kiss of lime. Can’t go wrong with this stuff. Quintessential krug this NV bottle — 6 years ago
Simply outstanding and still in need of either a ton of air or more time. Midnight purple, even black in color this wine opens with an aroma of raspberry crumble and a touch of brown sugar. The palate is full of big juicy purple fruit and berries with a kiss of cedar. Finish goes on and on with a bit of bitters at the very end to make the mouth water and want more. I think it’s nearly perfect. It prob will be in a few years — 6 years ago
Inky purple in color the nose is pure violets and Kirsch liquor with a twinge of truffles and funk. Palate is full of candied cherries and sugar plums with crushed gravel and a tinge of sweet tobacco on the finish. Needs a long decant. Beautiful — 6 years ago
Age has done this well. Underrated vintage of mouton. The nose is big and signature mouton with some glycerine and tar, some barnyard funk, and some baked berries. Palate is super vibrant yet smooth and sings of dark berries, cherries, Christmas spice cake, and a touch of herbs. Finish is polished yet lingers. Really great and a surprise for an underrated year. Only knock is it lacks a bit of depth vs some of the real top vintages but still what a showing — 6 years ago
Mouton magic! Amazing expressive notes of dark berries, cherries, and ever so slight a whiff of that signature mouton smoke with a dash of truffles. Palate is gorgeous with similar notes as the nose and opening beautiful as the tannins mellow. Finish is expressive and goes on and on with a Smokey berry goodness that puts a smile on your face. Awesome. Prob gets better but very drinkable now. Wow — 6 years ago
