This is a really serious wine. This year Cheval des Andes has the highest proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon than ever before. And this made it turned out into an incredibly complex and especially deep wine. Wow! Serious and great. — 2 months ago

A fairly ambitious Malbec blend with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc. Dry on the palette with flavors of plum, blackberry, licorice, bitter tobacco, earth, coffee, with raisins and cherry Ludens on the finish. With each sip I can pick out every grape, if I try real hard. Quite tannic, and my 2nd glass will be in an hour or more, after it catches its breath.
A very enjoyable bargain!

2020 vintage. Lean and mean with plenty of palate thrust and a bit of evident craft. Gets down to $15.50 a bottle resto cost on 3 cases. This is from the Château Léoville-Poyferré group. Tough to say "no" at that price. Not the biggest Malbec fan as I usually find it too one-dimensional and drunken Godzilla....er...plodding. 15% ABV. Keeping in the notes tho...04.12.25. — 6 months ago
