Vivid ruby. The bouquet is made of ripe red berries, cherry and lavender aromas, along with subtle licorice and white pepper flourishes. Broad, fleshy and appealingly sweet, showing juicy raspberry, cherry-cola and baking spice flavors and a touch of succulent herbs. Closes long and smooth, with discreet tannins and a strong floral note. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, January 2023) — 2 years ago
After some 2300 km in the trunk of my car, this is now served (after a much deserved 3 weeks rest in my cellar) at cellar temperature (about 16°C). I'm of course biased but man, this is good for the €€€.
The nose is violet, red forest fruits and that irony thing which might well be a terroir thing (the soil they grew their vines upon are reddish which tells me they could well be full of iron). The palate is well balanced, with a good acid backbone but some matter too and I see some evolution in the way this wine is made as earlier vintages were much thiner and acid driven and here there's acid, yes, but there is sufficient matter and a very nice mouthfeel, and fruit all along to balance it perfectly. Some lively tannins, kicking things up a notch and a rather long finish with fruits, that irony thing and a bit of bitterness which is very much a varietal thing. I love it, but I'm biased 🙃. — 3 years ago
Gorgeous cranberry color, light tannins, dry and super smooth. Made sweet by drinking with my love — 3 months ago
First wine from Raul Pérez, first Godello (I think)...
What a wine!
The nose is made of lemon peel, white pear, white flowers, almond milk... The palate is very well made with a strong acid drive, making the wine fresh and dynamic. There is a good width, some peary notes all along, a bid wide, spherical mid palate, and a long, powerful and everlasting finish with pear, lemon peel notes that goes for ever and bit. Wow what a wine! I love it! — a year ago
Just love this wine, just gets better and better. Deep Ruby with an elegant bouquet of berry fruits, light spice with fresh earthy tones, a traditional Rioja. On the palate, the wine was silky smooth with layers of flavors, berry and cherry, tobacco, smoky cedar, dark fruit, vanilla spice, very well balanced with fine tannins and a clean structure ending with a nice long finish. Delicious! Can age well into next decade. — 4 years ago
The 2014 Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru, made by Thierry Brouin, has a typically leafy bouquet. There is something autumnal about the aromatics, and some red fruits are extant but certainly moving into their secondary phase. The palate is medium-bodied with an austere, slightly meaty opening. This is not a concentrated Lambrays by any means. It's a little dry and mealy in the mouth, though it has charm. (Neal Martin, Vinous, June 2024)

The 2020 Bourgogne Côte Chalonnaise La Digoine opens in the glass with a remarkably perfumed bouquet of red cherry, raspberry, cranberry and fresh spices. Medium to full-bodied, I love the smooth tannin structure in combination with a great flavor definition. Drink now until 2035. — 2 years ago

Drinking a 3L from 2013 in late ‘24. Love the big format bottles and aging potential. This could go a lot longer I think but is also fine to drink now.
Standard Caymus flavors and aromas that made the brand known. Dark inky crimson color. Blueberries and blackberry fruit mixed with vanilla alongside the tell-tale signs of wet band-aid. Great tannins, medium-to-big acidity, good long finish. Really nice. — 21 days ago
