Vivid ruby. The bouquet is made of ripe red berries, cherry and lavender aromas, along with subtle licorice and white pepper flourishes. Broad, fleshy and appealingly sweet, showing juicy raspberry, cherry-cola and baking spice flavors and a touch of succulent herbs. Closes long and smooth, with discreet tannins and a strong floral note. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, January 2023) — 3 years ago
After some 2300 km in the trunk of my car, this is now served (after a much deserved 3 weeks rest in my cellar) at cellar temperature (about 16°C). I'm of course biased but man, this is good for the €€€.
The nose is violet, red forest fruits and that irony thing which might well be a terroir thing (the soil they grew their vines upon are reddish which tells me they could well be full of iron). The palate is well balanced, with a good acid backbone but some matter too and I see some evolution in the way this wine is made as earlier vintages were much thiner and acid driven and here there's acid, yes, but there is sufficient matter and a very nice mouthfeel, and fruit all along to balance it perfectly. Some lively tannins, kicking things up a notch and a rather long finish with fruits, that irony thing and a bit of bitterness which is very much a varietal thing. I love it, but I'm biased 🙃. — 5 years ago
Gorgeous cranberry color, light tannins, dry and super smooth. Made sweet by drinking with my love — 2 years ago
Surprisingly easygoing and restrained, but honest and of course very well made. Perhaps a bit aromatically challenged at the moment, but there is excellent grip and salinity on the palate. Needs time. *Updated review*: Spectacular on the 3rd night. Pitch perfect balance of fruit and acidity, richness and focus. It has developed a nice chamomile note on the finish with much more pronounced salinity as well. The combination of nerve and texture reminds me why I love Godello so much. — 6 years ago
The 2013 Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru, which former winemaker Thierry Brouin made, has a well-defined bouquet with dark berry fruit, brine, undergrowth and kelp aromas. The palate is rustic but engaging. Raspberry pastilles, orange rind and tertiary notes appear toward the slightly attenuated finish, not long, but you cannot deny that it is charming. I would drink this now and over the next decade. (Neal Martin, Vinous, October 2023)

The 2020 Bourgogne Côte Chalonnaise La Digoine opens in the glass with a remarkably perfumed bouquet of red cherry, raspberry, cranberry and fresh spices. Medium to full-bodied, I love the smooth tannin structure in combination with a great flavor definition. Drink now until 2035. — 4 years ago
Just love this wine, just gets better and better. Deep Ruby with an elegant bouquet of berry fruits, light spice with fresh earthy tones, a traditional Rioja. On the palate, the wine was silky smooth with layers of flavors, berry and cherry, tobacco, smoky cedar, dark fruit, vanilla spice, very well balanced with fine tannins and a clean structure ending with a nice long finish. Delicious! Can age well into next decade. — 5 years ago

Delicious wine. Got that Chianti cherry I love. Thanks to my brother for this. Great with home made pizza. Great on its own. — a year ago
