At $14.99 New Jersey retail, what a QPR steal. Med/med+acidity, red and black fruit, pepper, subtle tannins, absent any overloaded oak notes. 12.5% abv. (This is Bouchon Winery, healdsburg, CA) — 8 months ago

Like this old vine Semillon from Maule and the Bouchon Family. Fermented and matured in French oak of various size and age. Its rich, rich near luscious in its profile with plenty of honey, beeswax and ripe stone fruit. But don’t fear, its balanced by a salivating acidity (pH 3.07) and a linear crushed stone minerality that brings tensions, texture and balance, the oak is well integrated with a slight roasted nut and spice complexity. Strong mid palate through and a stimulating finish. — 4 years ago
