Virginia wine. This wine pours up purple in the glass and gives off a savory aroma package. The red fruit is heavily colored by a delicious earthiness. Oak is present, but not obvious. On the palate, there is brambly red fruit - cherries, plums, raspberries - and a fine set of tannins with zesty acidity. This is a fine food wine - I had mine with pumpkin pie - but also one that allows the sipper to ruminate on what is found there. — 3 years ago
100 % Marquette = non-vinifera jackpot. This my first taste of this often remembered Vermont specialty. Honestly, it taste like a Cab Franc and Chambourcin 50-50 blend!! there is this unique spice profile that comes through in the back half that makes this a compelling food wine. I am pairing this with Vermont cheddars and then fresh salmon burgers with house made tartar slaw :) Color is dark garnet that speaks to a black cherry herbal lozenge…yes, a moderately a viscous mouthfeel. This could be brown bagged as a Bluestone red blend and no one would question it ;) — 4 years ago
Craiglee have been making wine on this site since the 1860s In a 3 Level bluestone gravity fed winery - about a half hours drive north of Tullamarine - Melbourne International Airport. Aromas of Liquorice and Spice. Medium minus palate weight - very different to Barossa or McLaren Vale Shiraz. Medium To light weight tannins. Great length despite the lack of palate weight - like a Pinot lovers Shiraz. Years ago I used to buy this cool climate Victorian Shiraz because of the white and black pepper, but no sign of that in this one - is Pat Carmody picking a little riper? Worth a visit for any visiting overseas Wine Lover so close to Tullamarine. — 8 years ago
Such a great wine. Not overpowering. Great to drink while cooking dinner - or eating! — 9 years ago
Bought it in Virginia and it taste exactly as we sampled it. Lovely. — 2 months ago
This wine has a medium-dark purple color and a fruity nose, draped with oak spice. The blackberry and cassis aromas are joined by notes of cedar, clove, allspice, anise and a touch of smoke. The fruit-forward palate boasts a strong earthiness and a savory aspect. Tannins are firm and acidity is refreshing. The finish lasts a good long while. I like it with pork, but a nice New York strip steak is also a good pairing. — 3 years ago
Clean, crisp…classy! — 4 years ago
This is Gov case winner and I can see why: terroir-driven Chard fruit (slight tropical accent w/ a delicates floral frame) core palate. Sort of like Bluegrass is different than country. It was clean and my only regret was opening about one year too late it was clean and my only regret was letting some of that energy dissipate. At four years from harvest, the oak had rounded and it was certainly delightful. A useful minerality was gentle in the cleansing finish. My mystic was pairing with the wrong entrée which took some of the appreciation out of the quality build. I will look to get a 2017 offering as it should be all this and a little something more ;) — 8 years ago
aroma profile is broad w rich notes of various stone fruits alongside cantaloupe, lemongrass, Mediterranean herbs, camphor & a hint of bluestone gravel ~ palate begins rich as well yet is balanced by acidity, minerality & salinity and all along retains a cool tone ~ 2015 old vine single vyd Zieregg “Grosse STK Lage” is LEG!T — 8 years ago
for about 20 bucks, it's as good as it gets. half the price of Vacheron too. it's like eatting a strawberry cream pie of a plate of bluestone. wonderful! — 10 years ago

Great easy drinking wine if a little too sweet for me — 5 years ago
Thanks to the winemaker’s advice, I opened this because he admitted that he did not put as much sulfur in 2010 as he thought he should have - thus raising concerned about its ageability. I was pleased with the rest of product as it still had vibrant acidity and structured tannins. Mid-palate was was rich with black fruits. Solid effort out of Bridgewater, baby!! — 8 years ago
