Abbeye de Leffe

Blonde Ale

Belgian Blonde 6.6 ABV. Abbey style. It was the sweetness and drinkability that was enjoyed most. Different flavor/experience in glass 2nd time, preferred bottle. Spices? — 5 months ago

Brasserie Dupont

Avec Les Bon Veux Saison Malt

Saison DuPont is one of my favorite beers ever, amazingly my first time having this one. Insanely good, fuller body, more lemon oil than cream, pepper, clove, lemongrass, bread. I can’t believe they don’t add spices to this. So freaking complex. Finish lasts well over 30 seconds with lemon, poppy seeds, hay, jasmine tea. Wish I could find more of this. — 2 years ago

Brewery Omer Vander Ghinste

Cuvee Des Jacobins Rouge Flemish Sour Ale

I love Belgian sours this time of year. This one features cherries, apple, oak, and vanilla. Drinks way to easy for the R-OH content. — 4 years ago

Brouwerij Drie Fonteinen

Oude Geuze

Bottled 28 March 2018. Blend no. 42. Season 17/18. Shared by @Bryan Frey for a delicious nightcap and to honor Armand’s passing on 6 March. Just a perfectly balanced, funky, citrusy, earthy lambic. Best before 2038, but there is no way I could get my hands on enough to test that date as they would disappear well before then. — 3 years ago

Yep. I think that will do it. Keep that Champagne bottle on ice!

Brasserie Cantillon

Classic Gueuze Lambic 2017

Happy belated Zwanze Day! Celebrating with this 2017 bottling of Cantillon’s Classic Gueuze. Over the years, I have drifted to be a little more fond of 3 Fonteinen but I’m really splitting hairs. This is world class.

Popped and poured; crushed in 30min after doing the first yard work of 2024 and getting the hops trained to the trellis. The gueuze pours a brilliant golden color with a persistent head. On the nose, mostly tasty stone fruits: apricots, peach, kumquat, horse blanket, stony minerals. On the palate, the gueuze is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and refreshing. Drink now.
