Smoke & Cocoa nose! Something funky deep, decaying roses & tar ( if you will).
The palate is bright and rich, with perfect acidity to beckon another sip.
A 13 year old…I bet it has a few more years to go. As one @Delectable Wine reviewer said, we don’t deserve Barolo.
Well, here’s to undeserving enjoyment.
It has that lick your teeth & gums thing.

A wealth of fruit, the secondary notes beckon with time but I am not complaining. Red fruit and a certain slick stone forward are what get me to the haunting notes of pastilles: lavender and licorice. The finish goes on. On flipping onnnnn. Pairs INSANELY well with Republique’s zaatar-spiced cauliflower. I thought the mushrooms in cavatelli would be it but no. Taste with the zaatar of the cauliflower. — 8 years ago

Hmmm...what do you do when a viognier goes red. Interesting. Definitely raspberry start with a tart maybe lemony end...but that middle? Having a hard time narrowing in on it. Guess I will say it has a haunting middle. Will it scare you away or beckon you? — 6 years ago

This is a big beautiful glass of wine. Deep rich dark fruits aromas beckon you to drink. Full body, smooth and delicious to the last drop. Hints of spice and ripe fruit will linger nicely. We did decant this for about ninety minutes. Well worth the wait. I am can't wait to see how this develops in five or so years. — 8 years ago

Big red fruited & floral aromatics jump out of the bottle & seem to beckon to the decanter to keep filling your glass. The palate has sweetish fruit, some earthy pine-like notes & present, but not obtrusive oaky spice. Texturally complex with tannins that become silky as it breathes. Great producer. — 10 years ago

I have never consumed grenache blanc before, but this is a very pleasant surprise. A floral bomb akin to bursting forth from a time machine into Monet’s garden. While a few notes of white pepper and citrus snap me back to present day reality, Givenchy of the late 1800’s continues to beckon.
