2010 is in such a lovely place right now. Such freshness and so fragrant (opened an hour before Xmas dinner): raspberries, red and black currant, bing cherry, geranium, anise seed, dill, potting soil, sandalwood, cocoa butter, cayenne pepper, cumin, iron. Paired with herb-crusted, slow roast pork butt, heirloom beans, turnips and chard (aka Christmas carnitas). — 3 years ago
Nose has green apple slice, under-ripe pear, garden fresh string beans, cold butter and fresh green apple peel.
Palate has baked green apple with sprinkle of sugar, lemon pith, river stones, lemon zest with medium acidity and a long finish
Bottled under Stelvin closure, opened for slow oxidation 6H, then decanted 1H. — 5 years ago
Dark ruby coloration. On the nose, cherry, coffee beans, earth and citrus peel. On the palate, cherry, strawberry, a lot of earthiness, coffee, anise, dark chocolate with a long finish. Tannins are still strong. — 5 years ago

This really could be left bank Bordeaux, with a very pure expression of fruit, pencil shavings and dark chocolate. The wine is quite primary, primal even, with intense flavours of candied red fruits - certainly this is more red fruited than black - and a dark, bitter finish akin to coffee beans. The tannins are actually quite mellow, but acidity high, all of which contributes to a strangely Tuscan feel. Nonetheless, it’s a terrific wine that should age very well indeed. — 5 years ago
Savory delight - currants, garrigue, tannins. Developing but seemingly early stage even at 15 years. Gastronomic and a terrific pairing with regional foods (braised Toulouse sausages & beans). Perfect provenance for this library release from Fass Selections @Lyle Fass — 3 years ago

Perfect for a Friday night after a looong week. Duck, string beans and Leon Russell — 4 years ago
In the day these guys were Epic! I traded for this wine (Covid inspired) and on a particularly cold, blustery Chicago Saturday... we did big-ass burgers and left over Greek potatoes and green beans. Match made in Heaven! Haven’t seen a plastic cork in years... 16.1... Holy Shit! No sign of alcohol on the palate... did you get that? 16.1... no alcohol on the palate? Dark, rich, cloudy, chewy—classic black fruit, pencil lead, saddle-leather notes. Still alive and balanced. What a fun wine with food on a cold winter night. — 5 years ago
